authentic cuisine, like in NY's Chinatown. the orange Peel chicken, garlic eggplant, and pork potstickers were excellent....especially the potstickers! tourists that prefer PF changes may not appreciate this place, but hard core Chinese food lovers surely will!

So glad we had reservations for this yummy restaurant! Great food and service! The staff took excellent care of our party of 6 and the food was amazing. We were not rushed and had a chance to enjoy the evening with old friends!

Our hotel recommended this place as it was one of the only restaurants still open late in the evening. The place was packed out. However, the food was God-awful. The sauce on my chicken was so thick you could taste the flour in it. You know when you're eating a meal and feel like you might be getting poisoned? That's... More

Having newly relocated to the San Francisco bay area, we have been making many trips into the city. Most frequently we go to Chinatown and we are always looking for that "best experience" to become our go to restaurant for the many friends and relatives that are going to be visiting us from the Midwest. Hunan's restaurant gave us a... More

Pot of hot tea and two bowls of soup-gratis. Fried potstickers were delicious and you can make your own dipping sauce. Vegetarian dish and shrimp chicken and eggplant came out piping hot! Two cookies and orange slices delivered with $28 bill.

This is a very busy spot...be prepared...but well worth any wait. Family style is the way to go here...bring folks with so that you can try some dishes....just awesome! I strongly suggest Pot Stickers and the chicken in garlic sauce was exceptional unbelievable!! I have a strong feeling everything on the menu is exceptional...probably some of the best Chinese cuisine... More

Nothing fancy, as they serve basic Chinese cuisine. However, everything we ordered was competently made at reasonable prices. The waiter correctly advised that we were ordering too much and she was right, given the large portions they serve. The Wor Wonton Soup was very good and we also liked the Sweet and Sour Pork. We found it quite good in... More

It wasn't what we expected. We did get to have the lunch menu but they weren't friendly or open to discussing options on the menu with us. It was a challenge to get water and tea refills. The food was tasty but seemed borderline cafeteria quality rather than top cuisine. I would try a different place if I ever go... More

This restaurant is a good Chinese restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. Nothing spectacular. We enjoyed the Hot & Sour soup but have had better. The pot stickers were good as was the Seafood chow fun.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
