Years ago I had some decent meals at Jardiniere. Those days are gone. A recent dinner was embarrassingly bad. The dishes were overly fussy, seemingly struggling to make a statement of some kind. But it was the laughable portions the offended the most. A rabbit main course offering a single slice of stuffed rabbit, cut into a round no more... More

We planned to go to a concert and searched for a restaurant near the venue. Jardinere was across the street but more importantly, it was a wonderful restaurant. The brick facade was great looking and the restaurant carried the look to the upper level. We entered the restaurant near the bar and walked to the second floor to be seated... More

This restaurant is a gourmet's delight. Very fine food in a formal atmoshpere. Great for special occasions. Try to go when there is not a symphony or opera crown, because it gets more intimate and romantic then.

Fantastic night. Went there for dinner on our honeymoon. Amazing meal and great service. Catered for my coeliac husband without any worries. Highly recommend!

Really beautiful and interesting surroundings, and the service and food was top rate. Expensive, but to be expected.

First timer and could not have been happier with the food and service. I prepared for traditional heavy french food and snobby service but saw nothing of the kind. While the menu is limited, the reason is clearly becuase each dish is very carefully thought out. If you want huge dishes, this may not be for you, but each of... More

This is my second visit. How lucky to have it located right next to SF Jazz! Had an amazing fois gras appetizer, a hamachi crudo and a duck breast that was out of this world. Superb wine list with many choices by the glass and half bottles. Excellent service.

Superb food and excellent service, we had a terrific evening in the arts district. Nice decor, not over the top, romantic enough for a couple but comfortable for a family.

I eat at Jardiniere about six times a year and have never been disappointed. It's a beautiful setting that puts me in a celebratory mood and the food is excellent, but the best part is the accommodating service. I have had some special requests over the years, like asking for a vegan entree for a guest or needing quick service... More

As high-end restaurants in SF go (I.e. lots of $$$), this is a solid value. The cocktails were great (we had an old fashioned and a cosmopolitan), the food is wonderful (she had lamb and I had fish) and the decor is intimate. It's a perfect place to eat if you're having a swank night at the symphony or opera.
