Just down the hill from the Orchard Hotel is this small, casual spinoff of Cafe Claude which has a great happy hour, selling wine by the ounce and offering a menu of tasty bites. I got the curry popcorn--the heat sneaks up on you! For dinner I got their platter of mussels. This is really best for more than one... More

I was here during restaurant week and sat at the bar. The bar tender was really nice and attentive. The food though was great. I had trout and it was just amazing. The bread and butter before had was just delicious, Finally, the dessert was the best part. Flourless chocolate cake, took me back to France. I lived there when... More

Snails, chicken and great cheeseboard with sensibly priced wines and excellent and attentive service. Tables could do with being a little larger - we were 3 at a table of four but would have struggled with a fourth diner.

We had heard great things and even read the "uneven" reviews through rose-colored glasses. Food was a mix of divine and over-cooked/dry. The service was oddly comedic and pathetic. So many errors here. Ownership should consider training, hiring a manager to be on the floor, ETC. AVOID. :(

This place was charming - located in a small alley by Galleria Park Hotel in the Union Square area. Don't confuse it with Claude coffee shop which is right next door. Guess they're operated by the same people but it is a little confusing. There were two of us in the party. Had the Assiette De Pate (assorted pate) for... More

Claudine French Eatery and Wine Bar was a nice little find! Stopped here after dinner for dessert on a Friday night. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded, it almost seemed closed when we walked in. Perhaps it gets more of the after work crowd and not the weekend crowd. Anyway, we had the chocolate mousse and the profiteroles. The... More

First of all the we sat outside under the awning since is was a rare warm day in the City. Very pleasant and excellent service. The food was excellent quality and carefully prepared. Portions were light, but that's what I prefer. Noticed that everybody finished everything on their plates. The salads other members of my group had were all described... More

Their menu is very poor, dishes are quite frugal and nothing special and they take really too long to serve, we had to wait half an hour for two salads. Not a place I would come back to

Enjoyed dinner here and a couple of glasses of wine. The meatball soup was very tasty, the salmon was good, so was the lemon dessert. Wine selections are good but not exceptional. The room is a bit crowded, it lacks the atmosphere of some of the other places nearby, but it's good for a lunch or early dinner and some... More

We discovered Claudine on a recent business trip to San Francisco, and couldn't have been more impressed. (Partner went twice.) The food is great -- among other dishes, we tried the kale salad, salade maison, mussels, and trout -- and service extremely friendly and professional. Definitely a place to try (more than once).
