Such a fun place to go have donuts. My 14 year old son LOVED the large donut eating challenge. Very friendly staff.

What a cute, authentic place. Looks like a small business, nothing fancy about the place. Donuts are great, fresh and super yummy. Flavors are basic. If you are looking to get a great donut this is the spot. We loved the huge donuts, the kids took pix with it and the taste didn't disappoint.

This no frills donut shop was one of our happiest pit stops in San Francisco. The woman working the register and the young cook were the friendliest people we met in town, and the giant donut we split was delicious! The shop could use a face-lift, but who cares when the smiles and donuts are such an amazing start to... More

Delicious fresh warm donuts. Seriously some of the best donuts I've had anywhere. Delicious. Try the Apple Fritter and the 'Big One.' So yummy. Follow their Twitter for updates on what is fresh and just cooked.

Maybe we just hit this at an off moment, but we had a terrible experience at this place. I just wanted to take my sons to a fun place that seemed fitting for two constantly hungry teenage boys. So, we went for the donut challenge -- knowing that there was no way they would down that monstrosity in two minutes,... More

Had to try Bob's donuts, especially after three days of walking all over San Francisco, we deserved a treat. Easy to find, take the California St cable car and tell them you need the Polk St stop. Walk 2-3 blocks and there it is, very unassuming, quaint little place. Don't expect fancy, but the huge donuts were popular and were... More

This interesting little hole in the wall donut shop has been on Polk Street for years. The lady at the front counter has a very interesting personality. Often not very friendly. I found the donuts to be extremely greasy. But after so many reviews and write ups in tourist books people line up !

Fresh donuts and hot cup of coffee. Great was to start and plan your day. Like to stop by when I'm in town.

We stopped here based on the reviews I saw online. The cronut is what I read was pretty darn good so I got one cronut and one glaze. Was not impressed with the cronut. It was dry and did not have a lot of flavor. Maybe if I had went first thing in the morning it would have been different.... More

Old school store front and inside. You don't find many gems like this place. Worth a visit just for the experience of grabbing a donut in a place oozing with yesteryear style.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
