We visited Pete's tavern when we were looking for a place to kill time prior to going to a Giants game. Located just across the street from AT&T stadium, Pete's is a great sports bar - we watched the Olympics and several baseball games simultaneously. The bartenders are friendly and the beer was good. We did not have any food,... More

Pre-game pub food at Pete's Tavern was the perfect stop. Nothing fancy but the Bacon Blue Cheese burger was great. Fries were hot and crisp, so good. Our server Brittany was attentive and friendly. Loved it.

We stopped here for lunch as we were walking around. We were seated right away and service was good. Food was also very good with a nice selection. Outdoor searing is also available.

I stopped at the Pete's Tavern for a simple dinner and couple of beers, the place was clean and not too busy but it had a good buzz about it. The food was kind of a typical bar food, the beers were lovely, cold and refreshing. Friendly service tops it all.

I love to go for a beer or two and a burger or salad and watch the games. Pro staff and bar and very good bar food. I wish they had more variety of beer on tap. Currently no Belgian Tripel style, Porters or Stouts except for Guiness and that really doesn't count.

Classic sports bar, with good service for lunch. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a place across from a ball park. Service is great -- very friendly and prompt. I was with a group -- several had pizza and enjoyed. I had a burger and it was delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the location.

This place is loud, dirty and the food is worse than fast food, because you have to wait so long to order and receive the bland food. The wait staff act like you are disturbing them. The bathrooms are foul. The only good thing about this place is the location.

Wished we had sports bars like this in England! Went in to catch the early Sunday morning Seahawks game, wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first time in this sort of bar. Rocked up wearing my Seahawks jersey with Pride and to my delight there were fans from all different teams, with the bar showing a variety... More

Understaffed (one barman on aThursday night) but good service given the circumstances. Great for watching a game and chucking back some beers. The staffing shortage left the clearing a bit to be desired, but the place has character.

We liked the food we had at Pete's and the bar was clearly a very cool place to hang after a Giant's game. The only complaint I would have would be the slow service. Some poor lady was serving about 10 tables and working very had to please us. We loved her and the slowness was clearly the fault of... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
