Escaping from hotel breakfast I found this place nearby. Good experience, despite the fact you have to order the food st the counter. I had Eggs Benedict and they were really good. Place is confortable and prices are reasonable.

Great for a full affordable breakfast South of Market. Nice ambiance. good services. Great for kids. It is a walk up and order so not full service. We arrived right when they opened so no line!

Had french toast with bacon on the side. The portion was well sized. The coffee is good too - it's just too bad that they serve it in a wide mouth cup, since that makes it cold faster - but it's got free refills which makes up for that. The place is cozy and tranquil. Staff is nice too. The... More

Probably a little to 'hip' for me. They have a big menu so I would not go off my recommendation alone. I saw Tuna Melt on the menu and stopped looking. It was Ok. My real complaint was a beer and sandwich ran me $25. I think breakfast might be their thing so I might try again.

If you get here around 8AM, you're going to get a seat. An hour later and you'll be standing in line to order. It is worth the wait however! Great food with reasonable prices for families and good service. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table although drinks are left at the counter. This... More

We tried dinner here one nite and it was good! A bit expensive but it is in the Opera and Symphony Hall zone. We entered right before the evening rush. Ordered at counter, paid, get your own water type of deal. Mostly tables for two and one communal table with uncomfortable round swing out seats ( we moved when a... More

A really neat place to have breakfast or lunch and unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. My son had a turkey club. The fresh turkey is cooked on premises and was served with crispy bacon and fresh crusty bread. My husband had the mac and cheese, a perfect comfort dish, homemade,... More

Really nice place for a casual meet up, not noisy so you can hear your own conversations. Comfy seats. Good also if you want to have separate checks or come at differing times, you order at the counter but there were very attentive ( not pushy) servers that do see if you want to order more and can charge you... Cute atmosphere and good menu options. May be back for breakfast. Food was good and tasted very fresh. Only complaint is the cost. Too much for what you are getting.

This is a fun and lively place, pub-style atmosphere. Order at the counter and then look for seating. We had a great breakfast. Orange juice freshly squeezed. Hash browns we're not hot, but all was otherwise good.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
