What can I say and where do I start? Chef Crenn has done an absolutely outstanding job on this restaurant as has the team she has working with her. After seeing a documentary years ago on her on CNN I have been busting to get to SFO to try this out. I was lucky enough to go this year for... More

You just don't find many of this caliber in the US today and it delivered on the promise of a Michelin 2-star rated restaurant. The Chef owner is a poet literally & culinarily and her tasting menu took us on a delightful journey of flavors and visual presentations, with extra kudos to the Pastry Chef. Service was incredible; the Sommelier... More

Absolutely stunning. Superb. I don't want to sound like a snob - and just by writing a review of Atelier Crenn, it's difficult to NOT sound like a snob - but I have been routinely let down by two and three-star Michelin restaurants this year and hoped that would not be the case for Atelier Crenn. It was not. This... More

I came here for a diner after I saw the review on chefs table! I would have to say that it was excellent as expected. Ive tried several other Michelin restaurants when I was in SF however this one stands out. The food quality, the presentation, and the staff all were excellent.

I dined at Atelier Crenn for my birthday in mid-November. I have been fortunate to have tried all of the great restaurants in Northern California like the French Laundry, Saison, Manresa, etc. For my family this was an exceptional experience and a culinary masterpiece. The Netflix show honestly does not do justice to the quality of the food. It is... More

We loved the idea of presenting a tasting menu as a poem and no doubt that the plates are very creative... But there are few things that prevented us from fully enjoying the evening and because of which we will not go back. The food was very good... but some concepts were overplayed (i.e. smokiness was used in several courses)... More

The menu was a poem so we had fun deciphering what 'Autumn has come and is full of sweet surprises' meant. The food was interesting and overall pretty good. I was not impressed with Ike savory course and found 5 desert courses cloying. Three out of the 16 courses didn't hit the mark for me, which is not too bad... More

Rarefied food and preparation. Unusual, quirky and surprising. Visually stunning food. All great attributes. Yet the feel is more austere than warm It is 16 courses so come prepared for a lengthy evening. The staff seemed a little terrified at times. Maybe the kitchen has given them very strict instructions for them?? Dinner was about $300 per person plus some... More

We knew this restaurant would be inventive and exquisite but it was even better than that. From the welcome and first amuse bouche to the little parting gifts at the end, there was a single misstep. Each course was thoughtful, balanced and delicious. The abalone dish was probably the most perfect morsel I have ever tasted. We chose the matched... More

We came here for our splurge meal while vacationing in US! I'm quite the foodie and had booked various restaurants for the trip and Atelier Crenn was the most expensive of the lot. Admittedly, if you are paying USD300 per person (for just food), your expectations for the restaurant are going to be very high (well mine certainly was). All... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
