Having gone to seven of the 50 Top Restaurants in the World and inquiring as to the others (at which we will eventually dine), I must write this brief review of Saison. The interior is beautiful, the service was commendable. We had a lovely table overlooking the kitchen and did not feel rushed. But… the menu was uninspiring and totally... More

Yes, the food is exceptional. Of course, the service is excellent. The feel is cozy. The view of the open kitchen is grandiose. But is it so far off the chart to warrant being able the most expensive restaurant in California? Nope. Not in my humble opinion. When charging that much, it really raises ones expectations. What could they possibly... More

Restaurant has open kitchen, and I had an honor to seat in a table closest to it. For some time I wondered, who of about 20 people is chef de cuisine. It took a while to figure it out. He is not egoist superstar, he is a genious. Only fixed menu. Every dish was among the best I have had... More

We spent my wife's birthday at Saison and the team blew us away! Chef Joshua Skenes took us on an exciting food adventure for three hours, and we did not want to say goodbye. The service was remarkable and they could sense our every need. Joe Weaver took care of us that evening and he is truly world-class--and his photography... More

Appearing a bit militaristic at first, the serving staff turned out to be one of the very top teams we have encountered at any restaurant in the world - knowledgeable, pro-active, precise - truly professional. In terms of technical prowess, the chefs are also extremely skillful. The overall food experience? Cetainly worthy of its 3 Michelin stars, but somehow at... More

Booked months in advance. High expectations. arrive at 6.30pm seating. Waiting staff beautifully presented. Food overall amazing. Too many courses to be finished for 8.30pm seating. On 2 occasions had 2 courses in front of us. Minimal explanation on a course we were about it taste. Had to ask for matching wines. Had to stop waiter on 3 occasions not to... More

The food, experience and service were amazing, nevertheless the price was extremely expensive. Its unbelievable that you pay $1,200 dollars for two people. I dont think any food, restaurant, should be worth that price, so do what ever you want, you've been warned

It's hard to even put into words how amazing our dinner at Saison was. Saison is truly fine dining, but the environment feels much more relaxed than your typical fine dining restaurant. Every single detail of the entire experience is curated by the staff, and absolutely nothing is overlooked. The service is perfect, and we particularly enjoyed sitting near the... More

The place that increased my lifelong fascination with food, was Saison San Francisco , holder of three Michelin stars, where food really is “art”. Here you may find Face- book founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Hollywood stars hanging out. But it all comes at a price. Saison’s open kitchen is like a stage set, each course producing... More

Absolutely incredible experience. The level of detail in each and every phase of the dining experience is expertly thought out and clearly shows all three Michelin Stars off. Every course has such unique flavor, texture, and presentation aspects it's mind blowing. We came for a truly unique culinary experience and had our expectations exceeded with the food, the service, and... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
