The place is beautiful, warm and inviting and it was a lovely walk to and from our hotel in Union Square. We consider ourselves foodies - have eaten at a number of high end restauarants in California. As is often the case at higher end restaurants I would say you have to like food that is a little different from... More

Very pleased with the food and service here. Everything on the menu looked good. Started off with the signature "Prospect" cocktail (excellent!). Then we shared the Kale Caesar Salad, followed by the Berkshire Pork Chop and Braised Hen Ravioli (dinner portion). The pork was especially juicy and delicious! Prices were reasonable and the portions were ample. Service was excellent!

Went with 2 families with children 8-14. The food was great. Service was good (had to request more bread three times, but very good otherwise). Would recommend.

A friend and I enjoyed dinner there. The restaurant is designed with several smaller dining areas, so a large number of patrons can dine without feeling like a crowd. I appreciated that we could speak without shouting, a rarity in urban restaurants. The design is clean, modern and warm. Service is excellent. My salmon was superb, and the beans alone... More

We met for a business dinner in downtown SF. The Prospect is close to the bay and the Bay Bridge. There were not enough parking lots so we chose the Valet parking option. The restaurant was very full for a Wednesday, with guests sitting at the bar waiting to be seated. The rooms are very elegant, with high ceilings and... More

We had Dinner for two here. Reception was friendly and efficient. The choice of food is rather limited. The food was good (NY strip steak) to very good (hen ravioli) and came with no delay. Although they run a bar as well, their choices of beer were very limited. Prices are pretty high, but that's SF.

We met friends here for our Anniversary dinner. This restaurant is incredible!! We started out in the bar for cocktails and appetizers. The Jalapeno Deviled Eggs, Olives and Tomatoes w/Burrata were very delicious. They marinate their own olives and they are a must try. The olives in the martini's are really great as well. The restaurant has a mid-century modern... More

We've been to sister restaurant Boulevard and wanted to try here. Restaurant was alive with customers on a Tuesday. Decor is very nice and noise level low enough so we could talk. Food was good and included salmon, scallops and calamari, duck. Service excellent and waiter helped us when a wine wasn't available in the size we wanted.

I can hardly wait to go back! We were there for my birthday celebration on Friday night. I was greeted with a Happy Birthday by the servers. I started with the Maryland softshell crab corn chowder - delicious. It was filling, but I ate every bite, incredible flavors. My husband and I split the New York Strip Steak and we... More

Beautiful restaurant a little off the beaten track and located in the Financial district which lends itself to being a little more corporate and older in it's crowd. Very stylishly designed - a good place to be. Food was beautifully presented - I ordered the duck which was good but not outstanding. The highlight of the meal was definitely the... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
