What's not to like. The service was attentive, knowledge, friendly without being intrusive. The meal was 5 star. The 2 items sent out from the kitchen were a pleasant surprise or at least an appropriate acknowledgement to entice a return visit after ordering a +$175 bottle of pinot noir. We all had the dusk and unanimously agreed it was splendid.... More

The food is good, nothing exceptional. Typical American type of food.Have to say that vegetables were delicious. The meat was OK but not as tender I would have expected. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere.

Beautiful Space and great food. We split 5 apps and they were all very good and inventive. Great way to try several items. Big space and no problem getting a reservation the week before.

Visiting San Francisco and Prospect was recommended to us. Very happy we tried it! Both of us had the Halibut and it was phenomenal. It was served over smashed peas and potatoes. Yum! We were full, but they had ice cream sandwiches on the menu:). We loved them!! Just a nice little ending after dinner.

5 of us celebrated a friends birthday at Prospect on a Saturday night and could carry on a conversation! We began with Makers Mark Manhattans perfectly blended. My soft shell crab appetizer was beautifully presented, scrumptious and I devoured it before I remembered to take a picture. The halibut was cooked perfectly and sat atop asparagus with slivered almonds and... More

Nice food. Good variety of dishes, though the menu is not extensive. Had the lamb which was very nicely done. Dessert was delicious. Service was excellent. Does get busy so need to plan ahead with reservations.

A friend and I enjoyed Prospect. I started with the Baby Beet Salad and it was quite imaginative with burrata cheese, strawberries, prosciutto, and delicious baby beets and greens. My main course Pork Chop was large, perfectly cooked and served with several clams--a nice touch. My friend had the soft shelled crab appetizer and a 12 oz. NY Steak that... More

I've been to Prospect a few times for business lunches. High-touch service and good farm to table type food. Pleasant surroundings and close to downtown offices, less of a zoo than the places in the Embarcadero Center. Seems like it should cost more that it does, but it doesn't.

A great place for a leisurely (albeit pricey) dinner in the financial district. Both starters and mains were excellent

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
