This Soma bar is refreshing in this part of SF. I always order a Gin Martini, but their specialty as l drinks are unique and tasty. The vibe is serious chill, so it's great for h as happy hour or dinner.

The entry is a little hard to find. I ended up walking around the block and coming through the back door. The interior is sleek but comfortable. It's a little hard to hear because of the acoustics. The oysters at happy hour are a deal...and they have a good selection of cocktails and spirits. The plates are small and meant to be shared. We had a whole fish for a large plate that was very good. It wasn't busy when we went and the service was excellent. I would go back again if I was in the area.More

Bar Agricole You could almost drive by this place because of its black exterior and black painted numbers...but inside is an oasis of hidden spaces. A front closed in outside area, a bar with a cement industrial look counter top, a back dining area, and...a downstairs dining area, where table of 8/10 can be dining. It’s a treasure of hidden urban dining with handcrafted cocktails, that have the signature “hand carved large ice cubes”, (ridiculous for drinking). It’s was a fun atmosphere for our group of 8, but the food was didn’t accommodate. Serving whole fish, while trying to have a business talk/ social was cumbersome, the fried dried beans, etc... were just ok.... We were a group of vegetarians and there was not much to choose from. Our favorite was the wedges of lettuce with blue cheese and a nutty shake upon them. We wanted to like the place as the atmosphere was SF hipster interesting, and staff friendly, but coupled with a small menu, mostly meat and the new “in” pork belly signature dish, we left hungry. Also, while the venue appears a great spot for taking SF visitors, the room was far too noisy for us to have productive conversation. There were about 4 other tables of 6/10 in the same downstairs dining room.More

Yah, it’s a great place for cocktails and even better for oyster happy hour. That alone should get you to drive across town to try this place. Nice covered patio seating with heaters or head indoors if you prefer. Menu has mostly small dishes served...family style. Started with a dozen $1 oysters that were delicious. Served on ice. The duck pate was nice but needs more bread. Also ordered a custard topped with black truffle. That was exceptional!! Finally had the calamari which was served cold with a spicy texmex sauce. Really well done. Bottom line: Great for oysters and happy hour. Otherwise pricy but very good. Nice and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a first or 100th date.More

I had dinner with a couple of friends and was very disappointed with the food. It was overpriced and mediocre at best. I had a salad; the ingredients were fresh but the dressing was too acid. I also had a crab dish which tasted fishy...and bland, if that is possible. One of my friends had a hamburger which he did not finish because it was so bad. All in all a huge disappointment.More

Cool design. Noisy space. Simple menu. High prices. Small portions. I ordered the salmon after sharing a few appetizers with friends and felt robbed, as it was a very small piece of salmon for $36 or so.

A super chill dinner spot. Amazing drinks menu, varied and unusual food. Service was attentive and welcoming. We ate burger, roast chicken and lamb - all of which were delicious... if perhaps a little salty. Word of warning, the burger just comes by itself... and...probably isn’t the best choice if you’re hungry (but it was super tasty) :-) Will be back...More

Yes, there is a lot of hype about this place so I had high expectations that were not reached. The cocktails are quite good but overpriced like the rest of the menu. The food is good but not better than many places in San Francisco...that give you a better atmosphere and a much better selection of food and more of it. It is sad to leave hungry after spending more than $500 for 4 people. The charcuterie was the biggest disappointment of the evening with lackluster meat and very little of it- 4 thin slices of salami, tiny portion of pork sauterne and a small blob of prosciutto. They ran out of most of the oyster choices so we were left with 2 different types at $5 each and they were not great. The wait staff however were great and we really enjoyed our server's sense of humor especially when they kept running out of things. The 4 of us shared the lamb dinner that was very good but it was supposed to feed 4 and it certainly did not even feed 3. The selection of desserts was surprisingly poor so we opted for the cheese plate that was very nice and would have been better if there was any port on the menu-there was not. I guess if you were coming here after work for 1 or 2 dishes and a drink it would be fine. I won't go back and this is one of our bigger let downs of the last couple of years of dining in the City, not because the food is bad just that it's definitely not worth it.More

At about 5.20pm I discovered Bar Agricole was 20 minutes away and happy hour was on until 6pm. We immediately ordered an Uber and found ourselves there nice and quick, ordering one of the very reasonably priced vermouth aperitifs, and a glass of wine, along...with three Hamersley oysters from Oregon in Washington State, and a sausage – again at happy hour prices. We were possibly going to move on for dinner but the initial food and cocktails were so good we stayed. We had some delicious pancetta, and a serve of gorgeous sourdough rye with excellent butter and sea salt. Then we were into some ropa vieja (shredded beef neck) empanadas which were probably the highlight. We didn’t stop there with some dessert to share of honey cake and cardamom ice cream with a drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. Along with a few more cocktails and wines including a rye gin old fashioned and zinfandel from Napa, this was quite an indulgent way to finish the last night of our trip.More

Great urban place for funky cocktails and small dishes to share. There is small outdoors sitting area and plenty of indoors. Street parking can be challenging (be careful not to park in the back as it is private parking).
