This has better priced sushi than Sanraku and tastes just as fresh. Get there early as there is usually a line outside.

I've been here a few times when staying on Nob Hill and have had good experiences each time. Good service, reasonable prices and the proprietor is a nice guy. Plus, I like their logo. I'll definitely go back.

My biggest tip: don't be deterred by the appearance or size. This sushi is great! We first walked in to this place because it was rated four stars and $$. I would go out of my way now for the price and taste. Being from Chicago I have never really experienced the good stuff. And now I am scarred from... More

I was expecting a lot better coming to the west coast for sushi. The fish wasn't particularly fresh, the rolls were over-sauced and not well executed. It was fairly inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for..?

stumbled onto this small sushi bar late at night before closing, and what a surprise! We thought we were just hungry the first night, so we returned, and we were wrong! The food was even better! Excellent tasting basic and specialty sushi.

Great spot! Cozy but not cramped. The fish is unbelievably fresh and the rice is nice and sticky. Meals were just a bit more expensive than I expected but after the meal I have no issues paying what I did. The servers were knowledgeable and helpful. I'd think this would be a great date spot. There were lots of couples... More

4 star restaurant?.....I had the $18 Beef Teiryaki diinner...Watery salad, 1 small piece of tempura shrimp, and the thinnest (Maybe 1/16 of an inch) toughest steak I've ever been served (Maybe Tad's Steakhouse in the 1960s)...Upon receiving and complaining,I was offered no substitute and was lectured by the sushi chef that it was choice meat. The waitress offered to cook the steak... I would have given this 4 stars, but my shumi was cold and undercooked. They gave me another order which was OK. The sushi was good and fresh. The restaurant is small and the decor is cheap.

Everyone always recommends having sushi in San Francisco. They'll say that it's good anywhere. This is possibly true, but I will only vouch for Sushi Toni. It was a few blocks north (up a very steep hill) from our hotel in Union Square and reasonably priced.

After a cross-country flight and a long trek on the BART to get to our nearby hotel, we wanted to find a low key place to get some good food. This place looks like it run by an anime nerd, as many of the decorations and even some menu items, like my Naruto roll, are taken from popular anime characters.... More
