Being pizza lovers from Chicago, Tony's pizza is worth the long line that spilled outside. We had a few drinks while we waited for our table, amazed at their speedy staff. We ordered the La Regina pizza after our waitress walked us thru the different choices. We were pleasantly surprised by its light but thick crust and the toppings were... More

I'd been craving pizza and after a trip to Alcatraz, I had built up quite an appetite. I'd asked my partner to look up pizza restaurants nearby and he randomly selected Tony's from TA. I was jokingly having a moan at him on the walk there, all those hills in San Fran... "This Pizza better be worth it!!", I had... More

The pizza was the best we've ever had. We had to go twice during our 4 day visit because we loved it so much the first time. Plan to get the meatballs for an appetizer and try the award winning pizzas. Our favorite was the Cal Italia pizza but we also tried the New Yorker and the Classic Pepperoni and... More

Highly disappointed, we heard nothing but wonderful things about Tony's, excellent food, the menu is mouthwatering, however we called (unknowing tourist) to inquire about delivery, and the employee answering the phone had none other than "JESUS CHRIST are you serious?" to say to us. For future reference, no delivery. But heard good things.

Stumbled across Tony's just looking for a "pizza place", and what a find! Great meatball to start the ball rolling. Followed by a fully compressive array of all the varieties of pizza you can think of. Portion size was crazy so much food. Definitely worth a visit!

I wish I could give it 6 stars! Easy walk to the restaurant from the Fisherman's Warf area. We ordered the Coccoli (prosciutto & burratta cheese) appetizer with the Paulie P pizza and holy smokes, it was the best pizza that I've ever had! I will probably go back again while we are here this week. The atmosphere was great... More

We were in SF on vacation, took a city tour and was told this was "THE" pizza place to go to in the Italian section... so we did! We were there at 6:15 and got lucky, there was a 45 minute wait, but a couple was just getting up from the high top by the window in the bar, and... More

We shared a wonderfully flavorful Tony's deep dish Sausage and Pepperoni pizza on January 27, 2017. We found this place based on the rating on Trip Advisor. The rating are correct. This place rocks, and it's small, so folks, if you are lucky enough to get there and are seated right away, good for you. If you have to wait... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
