Had a lovely lunch here sitting outside on a sunny SF day. Hard to get a table because of the popularity (deserved) but their system is quite good and we actually got our table much faster than promised. Salads were standouts but let's face it the pizza is what you are here for. The menu breaks the pizzas into different... More

Heard a lot of this Pizza Restaurant, stood in the long line and got a table. We ordered the Margherita and New Yorker Pizza and it was served within 10 minutes. It was ok.

Recommended by a local- we knew it must be good when we were advised the wait was an hour. No worries, Stephanie the bar tender kept us happy, and even sent complimentary meatballs to the table when we finally were seated- the best ever I might add! We all shared the St Louis style sausage pie... cracker thin crust cooked... More

What a fantastic place!..food is great, especially the pizza yummmmy. We ordered the napolitana along appetizers and desserts... it was great. The only bit of disappointment was the cheesecake, not very good. But the pizza was simply outstanding!

We had the Jersey pizza with Italian sausage. It was terrific. We did wait 40 mins but it was worth the wait. The outside seating had hanging heaters. The service was very good no trouble at all. We loved it.

We make a point of escaping to San Fran at least once a year and we always eat at least once at Tony's! We always sit at the bar (we've never sat at a table) and the bartenders are great. The cocktails are tasty, the beer is cold, the pizzas are delicious, and the meatballs are truly amazing. Don't be... More

Best pizza in SF, maybe ever ! No booking so the wait can be an hour plus, plenty of nearby bars and Tony's take your cell number and call when a table is free, best to go later after the crowd is easing. Fantastic chewy dough base and really fresh well cooked toppings. Recommended (other than that wait.......)

My friend and I ate here and we are both Italian. Hostess was rude and sat us by restroom. Ordered lasagne and pasta. Lasagne was burned. Had to ask for bread and then the restroom was used numerous times. Each time the door opened we had a horrible smell. Server left us alone. Anyway, way too many choices to go... More

Brilliant! Had the salami pizza and the meat feast! Top 3 pizzas I've eaten....1 in Naples, 1 in Rome and this one! You definitely should come here. If you're not early you'll have to wait....it's worth it though!

Thank Oli H

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
