About
Established in 2018. This 2019 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand establishment overlooks a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay. Harborview Restaurant & Bar boasts a sophisticated dining experience of authentic Cantonese-Chinese cuisine. The extensive menu is dedicated to fresh seafood, dim sum, and dinner with banquet tastings. Whether you want to feast on something traditional (Peking Duck with Steamed Buns, Salt & Pepper Dungeness Crab), or are ready to taste a modern iteration of a classic dish (Black Truffle & Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings), there is certainly something to impress for every palette. Finish your family meal with a Hong Kong-style dessert, or relax with a glass of wine or carefully-crafted cocktail in the lounge. And don’t forget to complete your visit with a photograph of the spectacular view from the patio. Led and co-founded by original co-founder of R&G Lounge in San Francisco Chinatown.

Nice quality chinese food in a beautiful surrounding. The menu is broad and what we have tasted was tasteful and fresh. Unfortunately, without being prejudice or discriminating, we didn’t feel as welcomed or als friendly treated as some of the customers with the same heritage as the restaurant, if you know what I mean. Good place for larger groups, not so intimate for couples.

Limited range for such a large restaurant. Probably only about 5 dumpling options and another 6-7 alternative savory items (from the carts). If you are in a big group it makes sense to order your dumpling or dim sum choices if you know exactly what you want, and from the menu if you need to supplement with some noodle or rice dishes. Food is good cantonese style and is better when the restaurant is not busy so they spend more time on preparing quality. We were in on a Sunday peak time so we felt rushed and the food not as good as on days when it was less busy. Have the sugar coated char siu buns and order the egg lava bao also. All classic dumplings were tasty and thin skins which I prefer and you get generous fillings. Expect to pay $30/head (no drinks) for dim sum.

July 20, 2021 Dinner seating The staff was efficient and they managed our group of eleven very well. The atmosphere and decor was nice. Unfortunately, I found the food to be average and disappointing... I'd suggest you avoid the "Salt and Pepper Scallops" appetizer - - I didn't realize the scallops would be coated in batter and fried... This item was disappointing. I also had the "Harborview Beef" which was tasty but nothing special. Others in my group enjoyed the dumplings and soups. Eh, nothing much else to say... You decide.

Very busy restaurant that needs booking, while not cheap the food was delicious. Very comprehensive menu, we asked the waiter for advice on what to eat, and we’re not disappointed. Nor did he try and make us over order. Felt like we were back in Hong Kong, and would definitely be back, if we return to San Francisco.

We went to Harbroview Restaurant in San Francisco for happy hour. This is an upscale Asian restaurant. The place was decorated for Chinese New Years and the upcoming Super Bowl game featuring the 49ers. We enjoyed their lychee martinis, and two appertizers - hai gow and their tasty pork. Service was good. One funny comment - We used their elevator instead of the stairs. If you are over 400 pounds, there is a sign in the elevator, that you might get stuck. (Smile). This is great place to dine.

I don’t get the buzz. There are better restaurants elsewhere. We arrived on time for a reservation and had to wait as other parties also arrived and piled up at the foot of the stairs. Then, as one giant group but not well informed, we were told to go upstairs which ended up in parties that arrived before others waiting even longer (as whomever was closest to the stairs went first). One party without a reservation said they had to go upstairs to the restroom and never returned, clearly they went up to get a table. The food was okay, the lemon chicken is basically chicken tenders. We never got a drink that was ordered. The food and drinks come out as they’re ready for any individual at the table, so don’t expect drinks or courses to come out for the entire table together. And there’s really a view of the Ferry Building, not the harbor.

This place used to be our regular dim sum restaurant for family gatherings. We will never go back after this terrible incident! After you experience what had happened to us, you will have the same feeling like us. Mother Day weekend , every Chinese restaurant at BayArea is busy, we had reservation, understandable the host insisted we can’t be seated until our whole party arrive, the receptionist wasnt happy as I insisted to take my 80+years old aunt to wait at the upper reception area where we can be seated and waiting for my cousins who were in garage . Within 10 minutes , they arrived but our table wasn’t ready yet, the receptionist at the entrance insisted my cousins waited at the entrance. The 1st awful thing happened, when my cousins said they wanted to go to the rest room at upper level while my other cousins still waiting at entrance, that receptionist paged the upper level receptionist and instructed her loud and clear , 2 guys were coming up , do not assign any table to them. What a big deal of her , my cousins just wanted to go to restroom. After being seated, we ordered the 1st round of dim sum as usual , The 2nd awful thing being found, metal scraps in my sticky rice in lotus leaf wrap( like attach pictures )was found , I was surprised happened at a high end restaurant , everyone stopped eating and checking their food. In my mind, “why me” popped up, how many scraps had been eaten in the past. Do they have any SOP ( Standard Operation Procedure) for food safety. The 3rd and 4th awful conversations with two ladies claiming they were partners of the restaurant. The waitress brought Miss Wong or Wang to our table, claiming she was one of the managers, when we shown her the metal scraps, it wasn’t surprising her, she claimed she had similar complaints, she sounded like it was common to them and it isn’t avoidable, she wasn’t apologizing and her excuses , they told the kitchen manager to be careful . She didn’t offer anything or any plan of action for food safety in future and left . We insisted to speak to the restaurant senior management. The other lady came by , claimed herself and Miss Wang were partners of the restaurant, asked us what we wanted instead of admitting it was their problem. Continuously telling us it is unavoidable from their kitchen. The last straw and unpleasant conversations with the owner Mr. Wong /Wang , he came out and concluded it is common in kitchen, harassing us even your own kitchen may be as dirty as them. This is not the most ridiculous. After we paid the bill minus the metal scraps sticky rice, he came again , he yelled and abused my cousin was someone have beef with them for $10 different and created problem. We all so frustrated 😣, we came for lunch to Celebrate Mother Day , end up with terrible experience. I am doubting how Michelin can rank them as the Michelin Guide restaurant.🤔🤔

We couldn't have picked a better restaurant for our stay in San Francisco. The food is super fresh and comes out hot, right away. The flavor is incredible. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken, ribs, and the green beans were recommended to us by the table next to us. Not one thing disappointed, outside of us wishing we would have ordered the sticky buns! If you're going to order a drink, my husband said the Old Fashioned was the best he's ever had. Just an overall incredible experience. Authentic, delicious food!

This place is authentic. One feels like one is in Hong Kong. The food comes out quickly and hot. The menu has everything. Tip - call ahead for reservations and if you want a Peking duck, reserve it in advance.

Asian restaurant, We were 11 people and We ordered differently, in our case the Peking duck was excellent with its crispy skin texture and juicy meat. The flavorful crispy pork belly accompanied by dijon mustard and ginger really good. The service good, the waiters needs to have a better mood and patience with a large group

Came here on a Sunday morning at 10:30. The parking lot downstairs was full, but surprisingly, found free street parking. The weather was amazing for Sf, so outdoor seating filled up fast. There was plenty of staff so we never felt neglected. Salt+Pepper crab: solid 4.5/5. Crab was very fresh. Dried scallop and egg white fried rice: 4/5. Good, not great. Didnt have "wok hay" taste. Baked bbq pork bun: 5/5. Oh my.... best I've ever had. So soft. Filling taste amazing. That sweet crust put it over the top. After my 1st bite, all I could say to my gf was "oh my God" and smiled. Fried shrimp dumpling: 5/5. Really good. They do not skimp on the shrimp. Shrimp dumpling: 5/5. All shrimp, no filler. Shrimp and chive dumpling: 4.5/5. Very solid. Guava mojito: 3/5 Very good service. A bit pricy, but expected. Will bring the kids next time.

We loved this restaurant! Really fun to try all the different dishes and a great atmosphere- every table packed. We lucked out with a really helpful server who helped explain each dish and even took time to show my son how to use chopsticks. The dim sum was delicious - particularly loved Xiao Long Bao.

I went here with my family on father's day for lunch. We were seated in the patio area since only outdoor dining was allowed. All of the tables and chair had good spacing and we felt safe dining here. All of the dim sum that we ordered was yummy. Service was great. With parking validation, I think we paid $2 or $3 parking. I believe it was good for 2 or 3 hours.

Excellent Chinese food; not in Chinatown, but rather by the Hyatt Regency/Ferry Building. Modern, on the 2nd floor; large space. Excellent service; real deal Chinese menu. Loved the shu mai pork/shrimp dumplings (watch out for the pepper sauce and mustard sauce…hot!); Peking Duck on delicious light steamed rolls; and pork E-noodles. Reasonable wine list.

My husband and I came here after 6 months of SIP due to Covid 19 and 4 weeks of bad air quality due to wildfires. They are located across the Ferry Buidling. The patio was nicely laid out with proper distancing. The service was great and the food was even better. It was quiet on the patio because there was not much traffic on Embarcadero. The restroom was well appointed and pristine. Make a reservation ahead of time and be there by 12:15 pm for lunch. Seating is limited on the patio and it was full a little after 12:30 pm.

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
