Came here for lunch. We had Pho and Bun. My husband and friend thought the Pho was very good. I had the chicken Bun. It was the largest portion of meat and noodles that I have ever gotten in a Bun. The only negative was they left the skin on the chicken. We will return.

In a place surrounded by corporate businesses Green Papaya, a family-owned and operated restaurant is a breath of fresh air. Walking into this place, you would assume that it was just another chain restaurant, only to learn that it is a local business. The owner is extremely friendly and he made it feel like a very intimate, personal experience as... More

Delightful restaurant with, to me an unusual menu. Good food. Many vegetarian items but offered meat as well. Good Service. Easy walking distance from the Marriott Marquis.

I was hesitant to try due to the neon sign down the street and the fact that they supposedly served both sushi and pho. Not a common pairing from my experiences. After circling the 4 square blocks and going in and out of at least 7 restaurants, reading menus and waking out I finally broke down and went inside. My... More

During my first night in San Francisco, I was trying to find a place to eat that would be unique and not too far from my downtown hotel. I was looking for a non-chain restaurant and something that my spouse would normally not want to eat. So, walking back from a tour, I saw a sign for Pho and decided... More

Stumbled upon the restaurant on my way back to the hotel from a conference. Had the lemongrass vegan chicken. Absolutely delicious!

Enjoyed my visit and meal but missed my usual bean sprouts and shredded chicken from my restaurants at home. The broccoli and bok choy and sliced chicken were not my preference. Service was excellent.

Went there for dinner. It was nearly empty (unlike when I passed at lunch). The people, maitre d and waiter, were very nice. The food was good (tasty, good sized portions). The service was quick. No a place to have a lengthy leisurely dinner but good a fast, relatively inexpensive, and pleasant meal.

For what you receive in quantity, they lack in quality. It's average but the price is spot on. The Pho with ribeye is worth the extra dollar. Nothing fancy but I wasn't looking for that anyway! Stop in and sit for a bit.

I really liked the food and the restaurant. I had a order of unagi sushi and a bowl of Pho. Excellent meal. Both cuisines represent their authentic culture. I dearly loved the prime rib pho. The beef was tender and practically melted in your mouth. And the restaurant was quiet and quaint. I'd recommend it for dinner.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
