First I must say Flour & Water is on my top 5 restaurants in San Francisco. So with that said we went on a Friday night in late August and we just ask the server what they like so we usually go with their recommendations...More

Thoughtful creative use of ingredients to produce unique interpretations of Italian dishes. The atmosphere is casual, but the staff are extremely well-informed and professional and clearly passionate about food and wine. We had the pasta tasting on a Friday night--we hadn’t made a reservation but...More

We had the pasta tasting menu and it was really good, I don’t want my review of 4* to imply that it wasn’t really tasty food because it was. It’s just that we had to sit on stools and a shared table which dampened the...More

I loved the dishes we were served and the service was very helpful and friendly. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the noise level. It was full of happy people, so maybe they might turn down the not-so-very-much-in-the-background background music? A little...More

This place gets very busy and I can see why. The food is superb and if you do end up having to wait a bit for a table, it’s worth it. We shared a starter - a delicious burrata and sugar pea salad with pickled...More

Service is great, food is inconsistent and seating arrangement is a bit uncomfortable. The communal table is a great idea but the seats are way too high. I went to Flour + Water with friends and family. The service was fantastic. Very attentive and willing...More

It's hard to get a reservation (try calling the restaurant if open table doesn't have any openings) but well worth it. All of the pastas are fabulous - portions are small - a small bowl of pasta is about $20, but the flavors are impeccable....More

Unbelievable food in a unique space. We booked a corporate dinner in the dough room at Flour + Water. The FW team, especially Mac, were very easy to work with and accommodated our needs perfectly. We elected to have FW choose wines and went with...More

Fresh house-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, house-cured meats. It’s all about simple and authentic Italian food rooted in the south, executed with skill, expertise and old world standards of care. The defining goal of the restaurant for its ambiance and style of service is to make everyone feel welcome. "We feel very strongly about creating a ‘come as you are’ atmosphere in the restaurant."
