Food was excellent and quick. Ambience awesome, menu seems authentic. Wait staff were incredibly efficient and professional. What I take issue with is the wait for a table and the clarity of the hostesses. We were told 45 minute wait upon arrival. We weren’t excited...by that time frame, but it was doable. AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER, after asking TWICE how much longer (at 45 minutes and 1 hr) and being told “just 10 more minutes,” we were making other arrangements to leave and order food to our hotel when we got the text that our table was ready. We were out the cost of a ride share because we were starving, freezing, and desperate. Had we known it was going to take that long, we would not have waited. We feel swindled, lied to in order to maintain our business, not once, not twice, but three times. The least they could do is throw in a free something as apology but I guess they don’t have to.More

This restaurant has gone over a complete transformation. The beer has always been good, and so has the atmosphere. However, now the food is really good. Excellent schnitzel and excellent sauerkraut and red cabbage.. this is very good, solid German food in a very nice...atmosphere. Homemade deserts are excellent but pricey. Recommended..More

The food was absolutely horrible, we order deviled eggs, and they gave us pink eggs. Then they wanted us to pay a 20% extra because we were more than 6, even tough we were on separated bill and tables. We felt very sad, I wouldn’t...never reccomend it, it was such a nightmare. But the waitress was nice. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🪺🪺🪺🪺🪺🪺🪺More

Love this place. Such a totally cool bar. First class German and Bavarian beers, great wines and simple German cuisine. Got to be one of the coolest places in San Francisco. Musicians hang out after jamming at the Blue Bear.

Great beer and the schnitzel was excellent. Pretzel was disappointing, especially it being a German place. Cool building but definitely need to install some blinds.

Good selection of beers, all delicious. The jägerschnitzel was probably the best I've ever had that wasn't homemade. The potatoes, mushrooms, and mushroom gravy it came with were all perfectly cooked and seasoned. The schnitzel itself was cooked so perfectly and was so tender that...you could cut it with a fork. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the pretzel. it wasn't bad, just very average. Even still, it wasn't enough to make this a 4-star.More

After a few years of not being able to eat out for my birthday, so a few years without having had a proper pork schnitzel, I decided that I really, really wanted one for my birthday. With its great reviews and terrific view, Radhaus looked...like the perfect spot to enjoy jagerschnitzel and a brew—and it was! Arriving when it opened on a Monday, we could choose any table, so we were able to be by a window overlooking the bay and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge on a sunny day with sparkling waters and picturesque sailboats to enjoy. We both knew that we wanted to have the pork schnitzel accompanied by potatoes and covered with gravy and hen of the house mushrooms, and I asked the server to suggest a beer that would complement the schnitzel since I normally drink the darkest, heaviest beer when I’m choosing a beer to have just a beer. She graciously named two from their menu but mentioned she would bring tastes of each for me to choose which I preferred: I went with the Ettal “Mythos” special-marzen, described as a “rustic and rich Octoberfest-style amber lager. The Mythos was a nice reddish lager, not quite so heavy obviously as a stout, and easily quaffable; it was perfect for drinking with the schnitzel. Our meals arrived soon after our beers (my husband had the Hofbrauhau Traunste in “Zwickl,” a lighter lager, since he prefers lighter beers than do I), and they were plated beautifully. The mushrooms were plentiful, strewn over the schnitzel that covered the majority of the plate and on the side of the meat; they were flavorful and added a pleasant textural difference to the nicely breaded and fried pork. The gravy was delicious, neither too thick nor too thin, seasoned well. The pork was perfectly pounded and tasty on its own, sprinkled with some of the juice from the lemon wedges. We agreed that the potatoes were wonderfully crisp and delicious, providing a different texture again for our dining enjoyment. Knowing I’d want dessert (it was my birthday, after all), I didn’t finish the schnitzel (the rest became my dinner); we each ordered the cholate custard topped with a meringue dusted with raspberry powder. What a luscious yet light dessert! The chocolate was rich, the meringue added a counter-point texture to the creaminess of the chocolate and the whipped cream, and the light flavor of raspberry from the dust sprinkled over the crispy meringue was distinctly present without being overwhelming. Excellent dessert, we agreed! Throughout the meal, we received great service, including the thoughtfulness of providing not just a glass of water but also a carafe of water for refills. We loved the view of the bay, and we appreciated all the safety protocols observed, such as the checking of vaccination status as everyone entered. The unisex bathrooms were customary for bay area restaurants, and the airy high ceilings made diners feel as if they was more space around them. The long bench seat with a number of tables set against it was impressive; that had to be a huge tree they made it from. What a distinctive interior, I thought, reminding me a bit I thought of some industrial German décor for a club or bar. The meal wasn’t cheap, but the quality of the food, the beauty of the presentation, the tastes of the food and drink, and the service make the pricing reasonable, especially in San Francisco. I look forward to returning and trying some other dishes and drinks!More

Walked in for a quick bier and a pretzel. The beer selection did not disappoint, but the pretzel was nothing like an authentic German pretzel. That is a serious bummer. Space is nice, but a bit loud. If I go back, then only for the...beer.More

I have been forced to go here a few times and each time is worse than the one before. Way below average German food that is incredibly expensive. The German beers are good and a bit pricey but they have some unusual ones on draft....The interior of the place looks really nice and is reminiscent of a Hofbrau House in Munich. When you get the bill you are in total shock though and then they add the hated San Francisco 5% mandate on top of the bill. Stay away from this place .More

Had dinner, and would order the same dishes again: Halbes Hendl -- grilled half chicken -- very tender and savory. Brotzeit Teller: Cured meat, cheese. bread, mustards, radish, and pickles. Great cocktails: Haus Hugo: elderflower, lime, prosecco Altmisisch (Old Fahsioned). Staff very friendly and helpful....Of note, we were interested in the grilled chicken recipe. Chef Chris actually came to our table, sat down with us, and gave us the recipe. Cool guy and superb chef.More
