One of the best in SF if you want an authentic Italian meal.

La Briciola is hidden away, practically under the approach highway to the Bay Bridge. This is not a restaurant you stumble upon, but it is a short safe walk from Market Street or AT&T Park. The food and experience is authentic. You might be in a small town in Northern Italy. But be warned, this is... read more

Decided to check out this relatively new restaurant close to my house with some friends. Ordered a couple of pasta dishes to share: lamb ragu and Orecchiette. Pasta was a bit over cooked for my taste but was descent. I ordered the rolled veal and my friend the rabbit stew for main. The veal was a bit tough and seemed... More

Trust me, I am Italian and this is the only restaurant (I'm not considering pizzerias in this category) in the US that serves authentic Italian food. Caciuccos are amazing!

Yawn.....oh there are customers here. Yawn.....do you want something to eat? Somewhat indifferent staff, maybe just all bored. Food was good, but nothing over the top. Recommended wine just so so. Faced with a bathroom in disarray with a broken and gross toilet. Yawn.....

We had an early dinner just before our long haul flight back to Australia. Best decision ever. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of good Italian food in Australia, but these guys did an excellent job. The bread to start was excellent. My husband and I split the sausage and saffron risotto as well as the hand cut pasta... More

The food was OK. The service was bad. Three waiters served us. I wrote the check for $176. Today I received the statement from the credit card. They added 94 cents to the bill. What a cheap restaurant.

We passed by this place on the way to a Giants game and decided we would go back for dinner, mainly because it it cute (seems very San Francisco), we wanted Italian and it was close to our hotel. Do not bother. The waiters all have affected (fake) accents. The pasta is perfectly Al denote but the sauces are really... More

Some friends introduced us to this great find on Sunday after a SF Giants game. It is walking distance from AT&T park. Andre our waiter (from Rome) was professional and polite and answered all menu questions. We shared a plate of the buratta cheese that came with arugula a few cherry tomatoes and some prosciutto...excellent. We each ordered a pasta.... More

Good not great Italian food. Had a nice salad of super tender calamari with beans. Could have used a bit more salt, but I'll take that over too much. Braised rabbit over polenta cakes was delicious, moist, and tender. Friendly service.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
