The foie gras and NY strip were perfect, the side dish for NY strip were potates with a beautiful sauce. The list of wine is impressive and we had a very good Californian Pinot noir.

Cocktails, wine and appetisers are served by friendly personnel in an elegant, quiet environment. Two hours will fly and you'll barely be aware of it. Very enjoyable, at a reasonable price.

I had dinner here after a board meeting - we reserved a section of the restaurant. We had a big table big enough to seat a dozen of us very comfortably even though we were fewer. We also had an open section for mingling, with sofas, coffee tables, etc. Our server was fantastic, and our food was good. I wouldn't... More

I've been here twice for happy hour drinks and snacks. The prices and the portion sizes are just about reasonable. Outside happy hour then they are extremely expensive and not worth the price. The service is not great, not very friendly. Even before you order they ask you for a credit card, which I find a little rude. They also... More

My wife and I went here before going to a nearby theater. I was very impressed with the experience. I should mention that given a choice between wine and a cocktail, I will choose the cocktail. Although they had a very extensive wine list, I didn't try any of it. However, I did have a Celery Fizz which was quite... More

From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. The food was even better. Know for my steak I recommend the Schmitz Ranch NY Strip it is exceptional. Au Poivre is also wonderful. The steak... More

Had a lovely date in this hidden Financial district place. Wine list is impressive, though on the pricey side. Go with someone who truly appreciates and knows wine to make it worth the $$, it won't be wisely spent on a beginner in wine-land. Bone marrow is excellent for starters and filet was lovely. Great service, the place was however... More

The cucumber soup is too salty, and the salmon with fried rice the salmon was over cooked and the rice was also over fried. It has a great selection of wine, but other than that, soothing good about it as you can expect from a high class French restaurant.

Michael Mina's restaurant on Mission St. is absolutely fantastic and one that cannot be missed! I strongly recommend getting multiple appetizers, main dishes, and desserts to share amongst the table- family style! For appetizers I personally loved the steak tartare and the escargot croissants (I have to admit I am not a snail lover, but these will blow your mind).... More

A 'wine bar and French ' restaurant by Michael Mina with Rajat Parr as Its star sommelier featuring 'burgundy' centred wine list. Having just dined in A16 in Chestnut Hill the night before, the decor/atmosphere was nice but somehow not particularly warm and inviting. The Chitarra pasta with trendy uni carbonara sauce was ok (B) and the Alaskan Halibut was... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
