Very Nice

Very good, upscale restaurant in downtown San Francisco, but not outstanding. Food is very good, American, well prepared with nice presentation. Wine list is very extensive, and very expensive, not much below $200. per bottle. By the glass is the way to go, as they have a fancy contraption that... read more

My friends and I went here for dinner during the super bowl weekend. They have the On the Fifty menu for charity. We ordered the Linguini & Clams and Grilled Brussel Sprouts for appetizer, its was amazing!😋For someone who doesn't like vegetables that much, I requested a second order. It was that good!!!🍴😋👍🏼🍻

This chick restaurant with the best staff you can hope for in a restaurant made the boyfriends B'day dinner extra special. From champagne and amouse bouche comp, lovely table, handwritten birthday card and just superb service all around. The food was incredible, the tartare delicious, Lobster thermodore to die for and my boujabaise very tasty. The wine list is very... More

I have never signed at lunch so this was a treat! To start, We ordered the roasted cauliflower with uni aioli.. W-o-w!! The florets are fried lightly and topped with the uni aioli (which was not too heavy or rich) the crab tartine served atop French bread was also a great pick. I had the bouillabaisse. It was a Nice... More

We were in San Francisco over Thanksgiving. There were not many restaurants open but we found RN47 had a special Thanksgiving Day serving. IT was a pleasant evening with great food and cocktails. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful evening. It is located in the financial district which is a bit quiet at night but overall a... More

The atmosphere was great! The sommelier was fabulous. I loved the board that changed during dinner. The food was great! The filet was so delicious and tender. The snapper was grilled skin on with lots of flavor. The service was top notch.

Have had 2 good experiences there but the latest wasn't great. Some crab spread that tasted like mayo and celery, a huge mound of cauliflower, really good steak mignon, but I would expect so at $52, delicious foie gras pate, fancy doughnuts and an éclair for dessert. 2 espressos, $249 after tip.

I went on recommendation from a friend who goes to SF for business a lot. He warned me it was expensive - and he was right. But, boy, it was well worth it! Great ambience; my filet au poivre was outstanding both in the quality of the beef (Argentina-like) and of the au poivre. The potato side dish was unique... More

Had a business dinner here with clients and thought the place was great. It was laid back but still formal with excellent decor. The food was good but not great with a few of the apps being out of this world while others were just ok. My entree was incredibly disappointing with much of the seafood being overcooked and an... We arrived for our dinner on a Friday night with a reservation. We were seated promptly in a table for two along the windows. The decor is vintage French railway station with some industrial accents. Food was wonderful--and this from people who had just returned from France. The foie gras parfait was not what we expected, but we even liked... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
