The place is so fun, very lively, and great food. I was told to try the shaking beef and it did not disappoint. So tasty. We sat right by the window overlooking the bay. Very nice. Service was friendly, prices are high (as expected in San Fran), and did I mention the shaking beef?? Go!

Slanted door is in the Ferry building and it's a wonderful restaurant! It has Asian fusion and everything you order is delicious! They are probably famous for their shaking beef but they have a lot of options that are fantastic!! You come with a date, family or business and you will be glad you did! Cheers

I would have given this restaurant four and a half stars rating, but unfortunately the half star is not an option. The withdrawal of the half star is for the ambiance or lack of it. Very "industrial " with long lines of tables. There is no intimacy here. And extremely loud. Having said that, the food was excellent. The waiter... More

Because the food is excellent and the location offers a water view, the restaurant is really busy on weekends. Fortunately both the wait staff and the chefs are facile at handling large numbers of tables. The food has an Asian flare and emphasizes the best of local, fresh food. We were both delighted with our entrees, which were both seafood-based.... More

Absolutely a must for SF visitors. Very nice informal setting with friendly wait staff and great fusion food. Awesome view of the the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island.

I have read about the Slanted Door's shaking beef for years and was really looking forward to it. My husband and I stopped in earlier today for a glass of wine and found the bartender to be pleasant and very informed about the cocktails. When we returned for dinner we found a very loud, packed place.Servers did a good job,... More

Our entire family drove to SF from LA to celebrate my twin nephews' birthday. Even though the party was large, we were seated at a round table with the best view of the bridge. While the food is, obviously, always fantastic at the Slanted Door, (and the reason we chose to celebrate there), the service was equally outstanding! With a... More

Popped in for a quick snack and glass of wine. Loved the spring rolls, and dumplings. The wine the bartender recommended was perfect. We enjoyed chatting with the staff, and stayed on longer than we had anticipated. One of the managers gave us a lovely desert to complete our experience. I'd love to go back for a meal, and will... When seated by the hostess, we didn't get the table we wanted--city style right next to another couple so you may as well tell your life story right there for them to relish....but the big problem was the woman's voice next us literally sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard. The table setting and the neighbors ruined this meal for us.... More

A close walk from the hotel turned out to be a real treat -- all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Slanted Door. It's right on the water in the Ferry building, so you're surrounded by a nice ambiance, whether indoor or out on the patio. LOVE the wine list! I appreciate the thoughtful inclusions of some uncommon varietals... More
