I visited Tropisueno with a friend recently and had the loveliest dinner I've had in San Francisco yet! Delicious authentic Mexican food, and not too expensive! Our server Alejandro was a gentleman, and so lovely and helpful despite it being a busy Sunday dinner service. Would highly recommend, keep up the good work and a huge thank you to Alejandro!!... We stopped in for lunch. Everything was terrific! Best Mexican that I've had in a while. We had quessadills. Guacamole was fresh and delicious. The bill came to $41 for 3 people. Meal and drinks.

Extremely popular and busy. Not suited for a romantic dinner, but delicious and plentiful food. Good marguerites. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Be prepared to wait unless you have a reservation.

We ate here the other night. There was a long line waiting to get in...but for some reason, it took us only about 10 minutes to get in. The place is very busy and even before we sat down, the waitress said we had to be out by a certain time. We agreed to that. There was actually no worry... More

So you show up, put your name on the list and wait. Not a good idea because their list is ...just a suggestion. If you ask a couple of times where you stand you move up the list. We jumped at least 2 spots or more. Stay on top of it. It wasn't just us I saw it happening that's... More

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge of our hotel. We did not have reservations but were able to be seated within 40 minutes. Very busy but service was great. Spicy margarita was indeed spicy and only had one. I had salmon and my husband had enchiladas. I would go back again but make reservations ahead of time on a... More

The maitre d' underestimated the time it would take and shoved us in a table not big enough for my party. He also told us we had to be done in an hour and a half too. The food was pretty good thankfully.

The salsa was really good & 3 sauces were brought to the table with chips. Quick service. I would eat there again for sure.

On a recent business trip to SAN FRAN I was lucky enough to have this rest suggested by the Hotel concierge. and wow...it hit a home run. Friendly atmosphere. Great Margaritas and authentic mexican food with large portions at fair prices. A must!

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
