Ordered a pastrami sandwich for lunch from this deli. The meat was stacked high and the bread was fresh. Service was excellent.

A chance stop as we were passing by, but this was the best BLT I've had, friendly and attentive service, don't be put off by the fact it's only a little shop.

While waiting for our tour we picked up a sandwich from this little spot. The woman who was making our sandwiches couldn't be sweeter. Try the pastrami melt!

Good food at served in this quaint little deli. My favorite is the chicken soup. I often work outside and it can get a little cold- the soup they serve always warms me up. It’s a nice quite spot to relax in a neighborhood that usually cram packed with people. If you’re looking for peace and quiet with your mean-... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this place by accident. We were very glad that we had. The lady was one of the most friendly people I have ever encountered. The portions are big though so either split with a friend or be prepared not to eat the rest of the day.

I stumbled upon this place while wondering around North Beach. It is home to the world's greatest tuna salad sandwich. It is a must.

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
