All of the staff at this restaurant seemed genuinely pleased to help, from arrival through our meal and departure. The food was extraordinary. Of course the ceviche dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. The entrees, served to share among guests at our table, were also delicious. The ambience in this restaurant is nice. It's on the embarcadero, so expect tourist... More

We enjoyed a wide variety of small, tasty seafood dishes at the Peruvian la Mar restaurant. I didn’t know that the fusion of Japanese and South American cuisine would lead to such flavors and choices. The mixed plates of cebiches and Peruvian sashimi were all fresh and delightful. The main dishes were good sized portions with a wide variety of... More

We visited with our daughter, who was born in Chile. The waiter explained that Peruvian food is a little different, a fusion of SA Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. The pisco sours were incredible. The ceviche was melt in your mouth. Awesome empanadas. That would have been enough, but we had arroz de la mar, and squid ink pasta with seafood.... More

We went at 8:00 on a Saturday night and we had a wonderful evening of dining at the bar. We had the Cebiche trio, which was a selection of three different Cebiche and followed that with grilled octopus. Delicious!

This was our 2nd visit and the food was fantastic! Unique, interesting and well-presented. But the prices are over the top - lunch for 4 adults with 4 glasses of wine was $240! I was shocked at the condition of the women's restroom. Leaky toilet has dis colored the floor, which is damp around the toilet base, black mold is... More

We were visiting the Ferry Building next door and stopped in for lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day so we were very happy to sit on the covered back patio to enjoy the water view. There were heaters too so it was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fried plantains with sauce that they brought-sweet, salty and spicy all at... More

We were there for dinner and had asked for a window table with a view but the covered terrace gets quite cold as it is only temporarily closed with curtains and their roof heating was not working. The inside ambience is in cool design although it does get noisy. The service is great, the menu is varied and the wine... More

We were lucky to snag a reservation at the last minute and we were very lucky to have done so. Peruvian cuisine is not one of our staples, but it well could be. We sampled ceviches (spelled cebiches), empanadas and octopus. All well prepared with excellent flavored sauces. The restaurant is comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive. The only... More

We were walking around the embarcadero area and saw la mar cebicheria peruana. I haven't had a decent Pisco sour for quite sometime so I told myself that I'm pretty sure I can get one here and not be disappointed. And surely they did not disappoint. 😊 Nice ambience at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. Not much people since... More
