We spent a few weeks in Peru in May 2016. It was a revelatory trip, the food was so good. We're now visiting the local Bay Area eateries with Peruvian offerings and Lolo is a keeper. The ambiance is festive and colorful, the bar is busy, and there is indoor and outdoor seating. The bar and wait staff were engaged... More

Why is there so much hype about this extremely overpriced place? The food is ok but the quality that is constant is a kind of lumpen heaviness that ruins almost everything. Good example the squid ink masa and calamari. Looked nasty, no flavor, and heavy. Best thing were the cocktails and they were over priced. We ordered quite a bit... More

Lolo is without any doubt my favorite restaurant in the Mission District of San Francisco . The atmosphere is young , full of positive happy energy . The staff is multicultural representing many countries within Latin America , with usually a delightful host from Spain . I usually sit with my wife at the bar section where one can enjoy... More

We come every so often when we can avoid a wait, which can be long on occasion. Most recently we sat at the bar and had both great food and service. The small plates are exactly that, but damn tasty. Tuna tacos were very fresh (ahi) and the "cooked" fish tacos had a nice consistency. The taco tropical was yummy... More

Went for dinner yesterday night at around 8:30 and it was packed. I recommend you make a reservation before, otherwise there might be a long waiting list. The place is very cool decorated, it's cute and fun with a great ambiance. All the waiters and bartenders were very attentive and offered a quick service. However, if you're really hungry and... Made reservations which made helped for a Friday night. The staff was really nice and attentive. The atomoshpere is cool and it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, but it seems like it usually is. The food was good overall. They give you chips and salsa at the table. We had two orders of the tuna tacon,... More

The fun decor(like the bike handlebar chandelier) draws you in, and the fresh takes on tacos, beverages and small plates will keep you there. We started with house-made pineapple-blueberry aguas frescas and fresh lemonade on an uncharacteristically warm San Francisco afternoon. We followed with chips and salsa (they served us 2 kinds) and guacamole. The guacamole was very fresh with... More

If you are visiting San Francisco during the weekends and plan on exploring Dolores park (5 min walk) or even Painted Ladies (around 30 min walk) - this place is a true San Franciscan reward for you! The eccentric design, high ceiling, chatty table full of locals is very welcoming. Don't forget to make a reservations, parties of more than... More

Description
Lolo was designed by Lorena Zertuche using many recycled materials. It was our attempt to create an environment that is fun and without pretention. We strive to take common ideas from all around the world and give them a playful and delicious new perspective. We have a lot of fun bringing together the culinary traditions of Mexico and Turkey.

Neighborhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.
