Great service and ambience in this little gem of a cafe. We had breakfast, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Will certainly return while we are in the area.

We headed into some side streets as the Fisherman's Wharf area was too crowded, noisy and busy for lunch. We were so happy when we stumbled across this little nice cafe, which served excellent food and great drinks. Staff were friendly and service was relatively quick. We had the Greek salad and the BLT sandwich, both of which were absolutely... More

His steak he had ordered medium rare came well done. We did not make a fuss and just ate our food and left. I would not go back.... More

My husband and I called in for lunch. I had a chicken wrap with salad and he had a burger. The food was of excellent quality and the service was superb. I will be visiting again!

This was just around the corner from the hotel we were staying at and it was recommended to us. We had the breakfast burrito and it was great! Luckily mum and I were sharing cause it was huge! The vegetarian meal options were good and staff were very helpful. The cafe was cute and had a nice feel about it... More

The guys at our hotel (Columbus Inn) recommended this cafe for breakfast. Wow, the selection was fantastic, from oatmeal to huge cooked breakfast items. There was no rush to get you out of the restaurant, so we could take our time and plan our sightseeing for the day over a leisurely breakfast, and the staff was very friendly. The food... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
