My friends always like to pop in to this little coffee kiosk after eating around this area. Always a little line but they are fast. My friend swears by their cappuccino. My favorite is the hot chocolate. Perfect for a foggy day.

Best capuccino we had in San Francisco by far. You have to trust your GPS on this one as the location is smallish road pretty much surrounded by car body repair shops and you wouldn't expect to find one of the city's hippest coffee outlets here. Persist and you will be rewarded!

Half self service - you need to order and pay first and if food is included it will be delivered to your table. I ordered double espresso maciatto delivered cold twice... My coffee was okay but not more than that. Expect queues and slow service. Much better options around

We had to make sure we stopped in here again on this trip - we love great coffee and they definitely know what they are doing here. A great place to stop and get a cup on the go, there is one small staring table and that's it so not exactly a sit-and-work/chat etc kind of place - it's literally... More

The coffee is good but this is really just a hole in the wall with a tiny stand bar to drink the coffee ( just an elevated plank of. Wood really)You risk being run down in the alley while waiting in the queue. They are very slow and have barista attitude issues. There is a filthy park bench across the... More

Have been reading reviews of "best places in San Fran" and this place was consistently rated as the best coffee in town. And, boy, they were right. Ask for the gibraltar, is just delicious!

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
