The food was pretty good. The burger with chili was pretty nice and they have tots. 17 dollar pitchers sucked but they do trivia night which was a blast. I strongly suggest going!

Okay my husband, his friend and I came here for the first time tonight (05/01/2021). The atmosphere of the shack in Mililani was amazing, I loved it. The food was pretty good and at a really good price as well. It came a lot quicker...and we got seated a lot quicker than what they said it would take. The two guys working the hostess stand were super nice and were working extremely hard, this also goes for the two bussers/food runners that I saw, they were amazing too. We had Kiana as our server and she was good at first but went downhill very quickly. I waited for over an hour for her to even come back by, after we got our first drinks, I ended up sitting there for an hour and half with no drink what so ever. Now I am a server myself and I have been in the restaurant industry since I was 15, so I know how it goes working in a restaurant. I know people have bad days, I know people get overwhelmed with so many tables, I know that people are extremely overworked especially now more than ever with so many restaurants understaffed, but not checking on every table at least every 20 minutes should not happen, especially if you walk by those same tables. A table should not have to flag you down just for a drink or for anything for that matter. After reading multiple reviews it really seems like this place needs new servers. I have never ever left a bad review before but this place really needed it, and it is sad because I have heard a lot of good things about this place. :(More

On a fun day holoholo, we wanted to try something new and delicious for lunch. Some of our group had been to a private gathering here and didn't get to try their food, but loved the decor. It was convenient for us, so we stopped...in! The staff was immediately welcoming and helped us find a great seat so the pup could be nearby but not inside the restaurant. The place is super fun; it's in a small strip mall but still feels outside and comfortable. Inside is the main bar to the right, larger rooms to the back, and a lanai with distinct sections to the left. The restrooms are also right inside the door. At the time of this writing during COVID, they have spacing of tables, temperature checks, and digital menus. Their menu is large with tons of local and bar food options. There are also daily specials; it was Saturday so I went for the cheesesteak, which was $1 off and a basket of fries. The party tried the fish and chips, fish sandwich, and kalbi plate with rice & mac salad. Everyone enjoyed their food! Portions are ample, you won't go home hungry. Prices are also reasonable, it feels like a local bar & grill. Parking is plentiful and free right outside. In a normal world, I'm sure this is a fun night time place as well! We'll be back!More

My husband was.at The Shack Mililani for lunch. He called me to ask what I wanted to eat.. I said kalbi plate. When I opened the container, it was some sort of chewy beef strips. I called the restaurant to complain and got the server...who took care of the order (she said). She kept insisting that my husband ordered teri beef. She did this even when my husband tipped her $14 on a $59.72 orderMore

My friends and I go there for pupus (chicken wings, FF), salads (Ceasar) and drinks. Burgers at times. The atmosphere is great, open-air and close to home. Friendly staff.

I was alone that evening. However, by the end of the night, the staff and guests made me feel like a local. The drinks and food were great. The atmosphere was also great.

Perfect neighborhood bar. The drinks were good, and the prices are reasonable. The bartenders were friendly too. The regulars really make you feel at home. You can go and have random conversation or just relax. Lots of TV’s so a wonderful place to watch a...game or fight as well.More

The service has always been fast and friendly. The beer selection is good. The food is tasty (although this time the fries were soggy - but replaced with crispy ones immediately). The ambiance is comfortable-tiki with both indoor and outdoor covered lanai seating.

I used to hang out at da shack, until i saw the 3mployees start to treat the military like crap. It was more the waitresses, than the bartenders, but their attitudes just sucked, otherwise this place is a fantastic place to grab a few beers...and unwind after a long bus ride from Honolulu.More

We had questions about eating here due to various reviews but a local recommended it so we went. . Ordered burgers and Asian Chicken Salad and enjoyed our meals and the service was good. Overall the beach theme, locals type hangout was enjoyed. Everything was...good and beware the large Chicken Asian is so large that you will get tired eating before you come close to finishing it.More

As with all my reviews I’m reviewing this in the context of traditional sports bars. This is not a gourmet hipster joint so it wouldn’t be fair to rate it in that context. We come here for the wings, generous wine pours, sports on TV...and because the lanai seating is a nice atmosphere with some nice fresh air even though it’s in a strip mall. We now always go to the Mililani location because they have garlic shoyu wings that are highly addictive. (For some reason it seems Kailua only has buffalo, which are also fantastic but the garlic shoyu wings at Mililani are our fave). Beyond that it’s a typical American sports bar with very good service in the 3 or 4 times we’ve been. The waitstaff has always been pleasant and attentive. It is a bit of a place for grownups in my opinion. I’m a bit prudish though so use your judgement. It’s not as blatant as Hooters but the ladies dress to improve their tips from male patrons for sure. We always go in the afternoon and I see they have live music some nights so I imagine it gets pretty hopping sometimes. Beyond the wings the food is average sports bar fare. I’ve had burgers a few times, they’re usually a bit well done for my liking but that’s very typical in Hawaii in my experience and not exclusive to The Shack. The chili burger so far is my favorite. It’s messy, more like a sloppy joe, good with a fork. Not gourmet but tasty with a beer and a football game. They use the same chili on the nachos, messy with typical velveta style cheesy goo but again tasty. Might be out of a can chili but if it is it’s at least a good one and may be kicked up or something. I enjoy it regardless. My wife had a salad one time, greens were fresh , dressing was decent. Can’t ask for more than that really. I also have had the Reuben, it’s not a NYC deli mile high Reuben, but I was far from disappointed. Wine pours are generous. They have a good selection of beer both on tap and in bottles. Mixed drinks are very good, not skimpy on alcohol. Prices are reasonable (for Hawaii). Usually runs around $60 or so for two of us with drinks, wings and a couple entrees.More

My family and I arrived approximately 10 after 9. Apparently they try to create an adult atmosphere at 9. I understand that. That was not an issue. We were just really hungry and everything else was closed. We drove 30 minutes to get to the...Shak. I asked if we could come in and stand to the side and place a Togo order. She still refused. I asked had we come in 10 minutes earlier, would we have been seated? Her response was ma'am you can ask anything you want, your still not coming in. FINALLY, security went and talk to management, and management agreed, if we were just ordering Togo, he didn't see the problem. My children were 9 and 17. Was the food worth the argument, I was to mad to enjoy it. I can't even remember what I had. I will say this, had the little not been with me, they would not have gotten my money and the hostess wouldn't have gotten mommy talk. Thanks to management for allowing us to eat, but try to put more personable people at the door. My last night in Hawaii was almost ruined by a bad attitude.More

Other reviewers have mentioned this, but it truly is the best sports bar for the whole family! A delicious menu, and always plenty of TVs to watch various games. I drive by plenty of other restaurants/sports bars on my way here, but The Shack is...by far the best - and worth the extra drive.More

One trick to finding a decent down home meal that's made quickly is, when on the road where do the truckers eat, in town where do the construction workers go and near a base where do the soldiers go. The shack, which is near Schofield...Barracks/WAAF is one of the places favored by soldiers. There's nothing fancy here, just a little gritty (but in a good way), good service from "hey hun, how ya' doin'?" waitresses and really good burgers. If your going for lunch get there early of on the weekend because the place is popular for a quick workday lunch.More
