Wow be prepared for huge portions!! We were a table of 7 and made the mistake of ordering 4 starters…they were huge! Then we had 7 main meals!! We struggled to finish all of it but luckily our lovely server provided us with takeout boxes...so we could take home. We arrived about 7:30pm and so we had great service as the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We were seated quickly and hadn’t made a reservation. Overall great experienceMore

Food was average to above average. Seared tuna salad was good - good very fresh and grilled properly - rest of salad was as unremarkable. Service was average. I had originally wanted the grilled fish sandwich but at 12:15 they were already out of the...fish for the day. They forgot one entree so my son had to wait 10 minutes for his burger. Younger kids enjoyed the ability to make their own pizzas. Just a note that this place does not serve any alcohol if you are looking for wine or beer with your meal. Later discovered the whole property is managed by BYU - so lack of alcohol makes sense.More

Decent food but nothing to rave about. Huli huli chicken was just ok. Loco moco was actually rather good. Very disappointing though in Hawaii to see a menu item that says Fresh Local Catch. When asked I was told the fresh local catch was salmon....Rather perplexed I asked how is that local, I didn’t know there was salmon in Hawaii. Waiter answered that it was fresh from the market! 🤦 Now what I would expect!More

As Jerry Seinfield said best “ You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them”. Had people from 5...states coming, cancelled our reservation 2 days before. Very unprofessional. Pics say it all. They did offer to change it to!later that evening or another day lol….More

Fast and pleasant service. I was glad the restaurant was near the Breath of Life show, because he had to hand in the scooter we rented.

We had the "Surf&Turf Shrimp and meat," meal. It was the best shrimp, I've ever tasted. The prime rib slices were soft and flavorful. The service was lightning quick. The taro rolls were fantastic. The food was reasonably priced. I was informed that the chefs...originate from BYU culinary school. If true, it really shows.More

Didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was attentive. Bathroom was clean. But the food - we had the burger with spam and egg (we love spam) and it was DELICIOUS. Extremely generous portion - the only down side was I couldn't...finish it! The other down side is that I do not live nearby otherwise I would come here again and again.More

We arrived for dinner at 7:30 pm and knowing that they closed in an hour, we asked if we could still have dinner. The hostess who attended us said that she would have to confirm with her manager, responsible for the dining room. Unfortunately he...looked at us with an air of contempt and after leaving us waiting without explanation, he told her  to show us a table. He didn't show any  professionalism to perform his functions . The service was slow, slow, and the food was not surprising. In fact was one of the worst meals we had on the island. We do not recommend and will not return.More

We stopped at Pounders Restaurant for dinner this week. First they put us at a table with a lot of traffic back and forth. Meanwhile there were a great deal of empty tables. Second, I ordered the special which was steak with balsamic marinade and...grilled shrimp over rice. My husband also ordered the special but he ordered the grilled mahi mahi with his marinated steak. The rice was cold, the shrimp had not much taste and all in all for $34 or $38 per entre we could have gone to a much nicer restaurant. There was certainly nothing special about either plate and honestly tasted like something bought from a chain restaurant that prepares frozen food. We were greatly disappointed.More

Convenient location if you are visiting the Polynesian Culture Center. We ordered the calamari and Hawaiian Pizza. Both were delicious!

We arrived on the bus booked through PCC and were hungry. We rushed through a couple of shops and stopped to grab a 'quick' lunch. An hour and a half later we finally got out to enter the park long past when the activity schedule...had started. Tip - try the fast food trucks instead. Food was creative, tasty, and pricey as expected.More

We ate here prior to entering the Center. I gave this an "average" because the food was EXCELLENT and the service was POOR. Yes, the food was outstanding and very reasonably priced considering there are very few full service restaurants in the area. Everything was...cooked perfect and tasted great. The service was not so great. When we entered the restaurant, we were told we would have to wait outside until an event was over. I inquired if there was a waiting list and was told no, just sit and wait outside and they would let us know when it was ok to come back in. After some time, we noticed that people were walking in and were not walking back out and we realized that they were seating people and didn't bother to tell the many people who had been waiting their turn sitting outside, which I thought was very rude. Once our server took our order, she made very few trips back to our table and I ended up eating my entire meal without ever getting a refill which I finally got when I was done eating. Bottom line is the food is worth it, but take your chances with the service.More

We haven’t eaten at any of the PCC venues, but can recommend Pounder’s as an alternative. Their new chef seems to be having a favourable impact on the restaurant, and it was almost full the evening we ate there. If the band is playing at...the bandstand outside the restaurant, , we’d recommend seating inside – the music was LOUD – something not at all to be expected with Hawaiian music. Also, Pounder’s has a bakery associated with it – the dessert goodies look very tempting! Note that Laie is a dry town – but it keeps the dining cost down!More
