If you're looking for a friendly diner with a panoply of beef, seafood, and vegetarian selections, you'd be wise to search out Dean's Drive-In. The fact that Dean's was featured a few years back on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives will be recommendation enough for most food lovers. Dean's offers plate lunches, sandwiches, and more. The dining room is large and... More

Never had a bad experience at Dean's. Everything is good. I personally like the ahi belly. Lightly crisp & juicy. Teriyaki also good. The salads are worth every penny & huge! Ahi cakes cooked just right, never over cooked. I go there all the time.

Found this place by chance when looking for a close lunch spot to the valley of the temples. It definitely is a hole in the wall locals place but soooo worth it. We got the ahi cakes plate and the ahi catch of the day with recommended ginger soy dressing. The salads were the freshest I've ever had a budget... More

Dean's took over from Zippys 2nd location on Wm Henry Rd. very good local food; however their chili is da best.. even better than Zippy's and that's saying a lot. drive-thru is nice.

OK, you have to get out of Waikiki and do some exploring. Go up to Kaneohe. Find Dean's. You will thank me for the suggestion. Family run by wonderful people. My wife had the fresh catch ono. She loves ono and she absolutely loved it today. Now... my choice was the ahi cakes. Ahi Cakes... I have never seen them... More

After moving to another Kaneohe location, the food is still better than the typical, local plate lunch place with higher end entrees served plate lunch style.

Get the Surf and Turf! Teri-steak with Crab cakes! I can see why Guy Fieri featured it on his show Drive in, Dinners, and Dives!

My husband and I have been to Dean's Drive-Inn twice and will be back many, many times. Excellent ahi cakes and beef teriyaki. Fresh fish sandwich was the best I've ever had. Very friendly service. Both times, we chatted with the owner Dean (can't miss his blond hair). An interesting man, for sure. He shared his experiences with Guy Fieri... More

This diner is totally nondescript but with a menu and local cuisine sure to delight, IF you can get there before it's early closing - it was 6 or 6:30 pm when I went. Not sure if the hours have been extended. The chef is just a nonassuming local guy who makes ono food local style, but not in the... More

Like Roy's or 3660 on the Rise in a styrofoam box, it's that good. But you have to catch them when they're open. Would have given five stars but hours of operation are erratic. More times than not, have driven by and they are dark. Just gave up so have not gone back in a long time (months).
