Excellent fresh ahi poke. Inside of a convenience store so can be a bit deceiving to find. Fresh tuna with sesame type seasoning over a bed of rice.

Another recommendation from Turtle's Paddle Adventures. Kaya's has it all. Food smells great, there is also a subway shop, and they have really cute souvenirs.

Took a drive up the Kamehameha Hwy and stopped at Kaya's, hopping to pick up a cold soda and a snack for the road. Instead, we feasted on eggs, smoky links and rice prepared as we waited in the small kitchen in back. Reasonable prices, friendly service, good food. There's also a smoothie bar next door, offering some tasty treats... More

We were on a cruise around the island any my car-mates decided to stop for shave ice. I wasn't in the mood for shave ice so I just sat on the outside bench and watched people and chickens come and go. I noticed a handful of folks leave the mom-and-pop convenience store with styrofoam boxes of food and decided to... More

This is great little general store on the windward side of Oahu. The folks are friendly and they carry the necessities that you may have forgotten in town. The store offer local dishes from "Two Bald Guy" kitchen, Excellent shaved ice is served in a trailer. A new coffee kiosk. And for the less adventurous, a "Subway" shop inside of... More

Owned by a very gregarious father and son pair, this restaurant is delicious and right across from the beach. They have a couple tables where you can sit or just take it home with you. Definitely try the Ahi Tuna special if they have it. We had the hamburger steak too, and while tasty, wasn't phenomenal.

We were staying about 50 yards from Kaya's Kitchen and stopped in for some groceries. The guys who work there are the SWEETEST people. They are a father and son team and they can make some freaking GREAT food. Hubby and I got the steak and shrimp plate that comes with (of course) rice and macaroni salad. The steaks were... More

We usually stay just down the street. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, this quaint little country store really does have most everything you need. If you want to eat country, you have the little hole in the wall kitchen in the back. If you want to eat establishment, you have the Subway. Or you can buy a... More

Kaya’s, located in Hau’ula at 53-534 Kamehameha Hwy. on the North Shore of Oahu, is a small unassuming road-side country store. The store itself, caries an eclectic assortment of foods and dry-goods - from Spam to fishing rods, but also serves as a front for the real treasure this humble facade secrets. Tucked in the rear of the store is... More
