The line may be out the door, but it moves pretty quickly. I didn't understand the appeal of shave ice until I tried Matsumoto's. The ice is finely shaved and the flavors are big and bold. To really "get" shave ice, this is a great stop, and the prices aren't too bad either!

We spent about 5 weeks in Hawaii and this was by far the best shaved ice we had. When we first got there the queue was really long but we went for a walk around Haleiwa and when we got back the line was much smaller. We nearly didn't find it as it is off the main road tucked in... More

If you are half way across the path expect to wait 30 mins. Was it worth it, yeah. Would it be as good from the place next door with no wait probably. But so much history hence the lineup. They could probably charge double and no one would flinch. $3 for a small which was enough for 2. I say... More

Our friends brought us to this spot. There was a crowd but the line moved quickly. We had so much fun, laughter and great shaved ice.

We stop here each time we are on Oahu and it is the best shaved ice and it's only $2.75 for a generous bowl. They have a gift shop and the prices are high for shirts and gifts, thus only 4 stars. Expect a long line if you want the best.

Came here years ago with the family ...place seemed less busy then. Now it seems extremely busy at almost all hours of the day...but we have to say the wait is still worth it. Delicious

The shave ice is delicious and the snacks are great. The mocha waffle mix is awesome. There is parking in the back also.

Always stopping by Matsumoto's when we're in Haleiwa somethings changed. Gone is the small shack and dirt parking lot. It's great for tourists and for Matumoto's but long time customers will sense the change. The line was super long. Okay all nostalgia aside, the shaved ice is still as I remember it. If it'a on your list of to-do's do.

Great varieties of flavours, and it doesn't make me sick after a large bowl of shaved ice unlike other street shaved ice. The queue was long, but staff was efficient enough to keep us moving fast in the line. Must try in North Shore

stopped in for a quick shave ice and it was fine, not really super special but enjoyed it. Honestly, I liked the cute Matsumoto have Ice t-shirts even better than the ice itself - they were really cute! Be prepared for a line, they do have a bathroom to use outside and around the corner, and also there is some... More
