Okay there is a reason that there is always a line out the door here! It is really very good and so nice on a hot hawaiian day! Sure you can go down the road a piece and get you a shave ice right away, I mean how different can they be? Well maybe you are just only going to... More

We stopped here on out drive around the island. We saw many people walking around the area with bowls from this restaurant, so we knew it was popular. We ordered the Tropical & Rainbow. We quickly drove 3 minutes up the road to eat these while watching the sunset. Both were absolutely delicious!!

Brought 3 friends for shave ices to Matsumoto's for their 1st time. They are now ALSO fans for life. The new layout isn't as old fashioned friendly as it was, but the line did move faster. The quality remains. My favorite shave ice on the PLANET! Perfect.

Our family was obsessed with this place while we were on vacation. There is shaved ice and there there's Matsumoto Shave Ice. Just writing this my mouth is watering. So refreshing and delicious. The flavors are so good. Portions are generous.

Although the charm of the old Matsumotos is gone, the shave ice flavors did not disappoint. Coconut cream (coconut with condensed milk) and lychee with ice cream was our favorite. Lines are long but it goes by quickly. Portions are not huge but filling. We honestly tried several shops on the north shore and couldn't stop going back!

Enjoyed the shaved ice, but not worth the wait and wouldn't make a special drive to it. Prices were reasonable. Pineapple tasted artificial. Thought the shaved ice at Waiola (Ward center) was better.

Very busy place! Really enjoyed the shaved ice! I would recommend it! Not much difference between medium and large so most pay extra 25-50 cents for large!

Matsumoto is very popular and busy, even at 1100am. The parking in this mall is very busy, so you just have to sit and wait for someone to leave or find street parking. In Vancouver, BC, Canada, what you get at Matsumoto's is called a sno-cone - crushed ice with syrup flavoring. I have to admit that the syrup that... More

When people visit the North Shore & ask for things to do, I always say 3 things: a) Jump Rock at Waimea Bay, b) Dine at Haleiwa Joe's, & c) get a Shave Ice at Matsumoto's Shave Ice. I always get a small with Ice Cream. They have a ton of flavors to choose from. Don't get discouraged when you... More
