In the North Shore, there are food trucks everywhere. Macky's was the best, hands down. Perfectly breaded coconut shrimp and the rice was fantastic and very fresh. I would take another 10 hour flight just for some more Macky's.

We found Macky's on a trip toward the North Shore and although I wasn't very hungry, Macky's reputation beckoned. There were 12 very hot butter shrimp on my plate, butterflied but complete shells/tails on which made it difficult to eat until they cooled enough to remove the exteriors. Shrimp were delicious, served with rice and a small salad and piece... More

This is the real thing, food truck with 6 selections of shrimp to sit down or in the go. Great taste, fast service, priced right, good portions. Visited by Mostly locals. Why not 5 in review?, because they didn't have coconut shrimp when we ordered. The very nice attendant told us that they only prepare 50 of them per day,... More

Stopped here on a whim. So glad we did. If you're coming up from HNL to the North Shore this will be the first of many food trucks. Of course I haven't tasted them all but am very thankful we didn't know of the others further north and just stopped here, thus avoiding the debate on which is best. Absolutely... More

This place is @ the beginning of Haleiwa town on the right. Away from the other food trucks. But we tried this first then the other popular one. We found this was lighter not as heavy and also comes with a slice of pineapple and salad. Consensus was unanimous in that this one is def better!! Lots of places to... More

I recommend planning your day in such a way that you'll be hungry when passing through Haleiwa and stopping for a bite to eat at Macky's. You won't regret it. The garlic shrimp plate was to die for. I also tasted the lemon shrimp but that wasn't as good in my opinion.

I tried a few shrimp trucks on my trip, and while Macky's has been rated a local favorite, I still prefer Giovanni's, whose shrimp are more garlickier and tastier. Macky's is good too, and comes with more sauce than Giovanni's so maybe it's a matter of taste. Macky's location is quieter and out in the open, next to a gas... More

The first thing you see as you pull in to Macky’s crowded parking lot is a sign proudly proclaiming that they were voted the best shrimp on the islands. Islands, plural. And on eating it, it’s easy to see why. My wife & I got garlic shrimp and hot & spicy shrimp, and both were juicy, succulent and full of... More

We normally hit Giovanni's up the road where all the of the food trucks are parked. It had a line 30+ people long, so we decided to try Macky's instead. It's just up the road (right as you enter Haleiwa). The shrimp was delicious, portions and prices right on par with all the shrimp trucks in the area, and best... More

After visiting a major pineapple plantation and on our way to the beaches of North Shore, we stopped at Macky's to check off a "must do" from my bucket list--eating shrimp from a shrimp truck. I read so many reviews on several and opted to try Macky's. We arrived at lunch time right after a huge tour group. Luckily, they... More
