I've loved CoCo Ichibanya since the time I used to live in Matsumoto, Japan (in fact, every time I got paid, this would be the first place I would head). I was very excited to learn that the chain also exists in Hawaii. This is my second time to a CoCo Ichibanya in the U.S. and both visits (the other... More

We liked the mains here. Skip the fried shumai and gyoza even though they each cost just $2. Not good. BUT, the curries were great. Except for being able to choose the spicy level, I felt like I was back in Okinawa! I had curry pork cutlet; my wife had a combo of kalbi and fried chicken (both spicy). The... More

First stop in Hawaii was Coco's of course. Haven't had it for 7 years in Japan and the food was really good and came out fast. The only disappointment was that there were no level of spiciness like in Japan but other than that super tasty and friendly service. Recommend stopping here without a doubt.

Quick service, friendly. Had the pork katsu kimchee plate. It was steaming hot, tasty, not to spicy. The gyozas were pretty good as well. Poetions were good and the price was not expensive at all. Good place to stop and grind.

Coco Ichi Hawaii is a great place to get Japanese style curry. Very similar menu to the Coco Ichi stores in Japan, just wish they had multiple spicy levels to turn down or up the tears. Customize your curry with toppings, the eggplant was perfectly prepared. Add some fukujinzuke, too! Very friendly staff at Pearlridge, always a great value!

We used to live in Japan and would eat Coco's all the time so we were so excited when we heard there was one here when we moved here! It's so yummy! I just wish they had naan bread! It's sometimes busy, but you can place to-go orders and they're normally pretty quick. Their udon is so good, but you... More

We usually order to go and eat at work. I like the Katsu curry with cheese. My grand kids like it too, but they will not sell you a kids meal to go even if you are ordering several adult meals. Just in case it's not really for a kid. Pretty petty of them in my opinion.

I'm not sure what the rave is about. Everything taste the same, meat with too much curry poured over it. Everything! There are much better places within walking distance...15 feet!

I have not found curry like this since living in Japan. Thrilled to have this place in my new hometown!
