About
The Mill House applies an innovative approach to fresh, local ingredients in dishes that honor the cultures of those who emigrated from Japan, China, Spain, Korea, Portugal, and other distant lands to work in Maui’s sugarcane industry a century and more ago. Due to the unpredictable Maui weather conditions, we cannot guarantee seating requests. When you make a reservation with The Mill House space is set aside at an indoor table for your comfort. Upon arrival, guests are seated in one of our four dining areas, with varying types of ambiance, and all open aired. The east facing Sugar Room is a warm industrial-inspired space with vaulted ceilings and long farm tables looking out upon Haleakala

We had a dinner in Mill House Maui, which is the restaurant inside the former plantation mill. The decoration is very nice as they have reused old tools and machinery from the mill, so they made a very good conservation work; and gives the restaurant...a cozy atmosphere. Food and service were excellent. They created elaborated recipes paying a lot of attention to the quality of the ingredients, most of them sourced from local farms in the area. Waiters were very kind and made sure that we were enjoying. We also ordered some cocktails and they were very well prepared by a professional bartender. I wished I had more times to go back there for having dinner.More

We had dinner two different times at the Mill House during our month long stay on Maui. The 1st visit was absolutely wonderful. Not only fantastic choices of food and drinks, but server was experienced and knowledgeable.Pacing was not too fast but perfectly timed. The...2nd time, the food was great; however, the pacing was awful. We were totally finished in about 35 minutes - way too fast. Not sure exactly what happened. We did give a review to the Mill HOuse and they did respond with an apology. That said, we would still go back.More

We ate dinner at the Mill House on our anniversary trip. The scenery was amazing. We had an excellent server. I would love to go back and take advantage of the zipline. The gift shop was closed when we finished dinner, so we didn't do...any shopping. The menu had a history of the plantation, which was very interesting. If we ever go back, we will definitely spend more time here.More

My husband and I dined at the Mill House on a Saturday evening. The setting in a tropical plantation was amazingly beautiful. We did not have reservations (recommended) but were able to stroll the lovely grounds while waiting. The dishes were very inventive, and the...presentation of food by multiple servers was quite nice. The soft live piano music added to the atmosphere. Dinner could be casual or dressy, although I would not dress super-casual. We started with the Portuguese Pork Sausage and Pickles appetizer. I had the Coconut Curry Prawns which were absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the burger (although he did not care for the kettle chips). Mill House appears to be a great venue for a wedding or corporate affair, as we saw one taking place that evening. Highly recommended!More

Great cocktails and atmosphere! Definitely recommend! The chopped salad was the best I have ever had. Seems strange, but definitely get it you won’t regret it!

My hubby and I had lunch here. We were seating outside and had a lovely view of the mountains and zip-liners zipping by. We split and sandwich special and a salad and it was very good. The portions are not huge and I could have...eaten the whole sandwich easily. The setting is really nice and we enjoyed it very much.More

We had a fantastic dinner experience at The Mill House. We decided to go early and take the tram tour of the plantation, it was beautiful. There are some very nice shops so we did a little looking around. Headed to the bar for a...pre dinner cocktail before our reservation. Very cool 18 foot bar and great bartenders. So friendly and very nice. Enjoyed our drinks then were seated. They have four different seating areas and all are a little different and all very nice. Our food was wonderful and we enjoyed our dinner very much. We highly recommend The Mill House for a special dinner on Maui.More

The first thing you notice about this restaurant is the amazing setting. The mountains and views are stunning and the indoor/outdoor atmosphere is just perfect for a romantic dinner. My husband and I arrived early for dinner so that we could have pre-dinner drinks at...the bar. We each ordered dirty martinis. This is the only complaint I have from our experience. Our martinis were served in tiny glasses (not martini glasses) that weren’t even full. After spending some time at the bar, we asked to cancel our table and just stay at the bar since the views were better. The hostesses happily accommodated us. We started with the roasted bone marrow with flatbread, ginger chive relish and roasted mushrooms for an appetizer. It was unique and very tasty. For dinner, I had the pan seared fish with cauliflower purée and chive oil. My husband had the braised beef pasta. Both meals were full of flavor. For dessert, we had the chocolate bomb. It was rich, but not too rich, and a great way to end our meal. Between our meals and the setting, I don’t know that our experience could have been better. Also, the prices were relatively reasonable for such a nice restaurant. This is one of my new favorite restaurants.More

I have been visiting Maui for over 50 years. I found that going to The Mill House from Kaanapali can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. It usually depends on the time of day.
