Anyone who travels to Maui MUST TRY Komoda Bakery! They specialize in old time tested pastries from their "secret" recipes, which have been handed down through the generations. The locals KNOW this is THE finest bakery on Maui, and will travel upcountry for these delicacies.

These are famous on Maui & for good reason. The donuts are a stick & malasadas are the a family favorite!

Definitely go super early. We arrived around 9:30am and more than half their desserts were gone already. People were buying malasadas in boxes and I think those were just the locals. Guava ones were delicious and their fresh baked shortbread cookies were just as good. Make sure to stop here, but don't bother going in the afternoon.

Everything is great!!! Best malasadas (which are best fresh and warm) and cream puffs. Get there early though or you won't get.

They make the best butter rolls and donuts on the stick... they make other good desserts like cream puffs, cookies, long johns, pies

I love malasadas. Komoda Bakery has great ones. But a word of warning...get there early. Supplies are very limited. If you get there in the afternoon they will very likely be out or have a very limited selection. Wish they would produce these popular treats throughout the day. They are definitely better the fresher they are.

Definitely worth the stop in the country town of Makawao. Coffee and fresh malasadas are a must in Maui.

I was so excited about going to this bakery after getting up in the middle of the night to go to the summit and I was so disappointed. We pretty much got one of everything between the 5 of us and yes the donut stick is good, the strawberry filled donut was just good, the malasades were good, we had... More

We had read about this place so put it on our must try list while in Maui. Amazing! We picked up a 6 pack of donuts on a stick (they are oh so good!), a 6 pack of cream puffs (amazing!) and a bag of the butter rolls (we haven't tried these yet...we went today). Everything was so soft and... More

The malasadas are really very good. The first time to Komoda's I stepped in the non-existant line line to buy one to taste before making a box purchase. The taste was great so I stepped back inside after we finished and, no joke, there were 17 people waiting in line all knowing what they wanted. I was worried that the... More
