Excellent sushi, good vibes. Best sushi and miso soup I had in Hawaii, in fact. A quaint little joint in a quaint little town, without the crowds ...

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy day. Ended up spending $100 or so for sushi for three. We enjoyed the food very much but the bill not so much. My son had a delicious bowl of strawberry ice cream for dessert.

I still think this is one of the best sushi restaurants on the island. Nothing fancy and fairly pricey, but the sushi is always good and the quality of the fish is above average. I'll keep coming back.

Average sushi prices for Maui. Menu was simple, nothing exciting. The sashimi was not fresh and poorly cut. Poor and unprofessional service. I was hoping for better, I prefer supporting local businesses, but I can't imagine wanting to come back.

We stopped for a light dinner at Makawao Sushi. It was great! The staff are really friendly and made some recommendations (not everyone in our group likes sushi). We had steamed rice and four different rolls, including the recommended Philadelphia Roll, which was excellent. We love that you can bring your own adult beverage. It is important to note that... We stopped here for lunch after a day hiking the crater. We ordered a Garden salad for 9 and receive a tiny salad with ice burg lettuce and carrots. The dressing tasted good but wish we had more lettuce to go with the dressing. The staff was very unfriendly and it felt uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend it.

I loved to stop in a Makawao sushi for a light meal as we explored Makawao, but on this last trip it was blah. My mother's roll was spicy to the point of being inedible. My roll was just ok. Normally I rave about the sushi, but was left disappointed on this last trip.

If you're in the upcountry part of the island and craving for sushi, you should go to this place. The sushi plates are simple and authentic, exactly what we were looking for. The Service is fast and it is a BYOW. Try the Haleakala rolls. They are warm and melt in the mouth. Definitely recommend the place for sushi fans.

Fantastic sushi - owners are Korean but know how to pick fish and make sushi treats ! beware, large portions .. at least we had the tendency to order more than necessary.

Dropped in again at this local hot spot in Makawao for some sushi with local friends and once again owners Ben, wife Jong and daughter Joyce took great care of us and the sushi was excellent! Had a shrimp tempura cut roll with spicy Tuna and Avocado and it was very nice. Salmon belly sushi and Hamachi Belly sushi, all... More
