This was our second visit to Papis. We loved the cinnamon rolls, croissants and cookies so much we decided to go back for the pizza.
We got the meat lovers pizza which had soooooo many toppings! We also got the margherita pizza which was to die for ! The fresh homemade dough and brick oven flavor is perfect, and the pizza is so large you get allot of food for the low price !
This place is a hidden gem that anyone visiting the island should go to!! The food, the service , everything is exceptional !

OMG we just came back with our cinnamon rolls, croissants and cookies! Incredible flavor , quality and portion sizes. How can the prices be so low for what they give you ? When you pull into the parking lot you can smell the cinnamon rolls baking. Inside you can see the dough proofing and the finished product.
We visit local bakeries every where we travel and this place is by far one of the best we have been to in the US! I am not exaggerating when I saw I could eat here every day - and our kids actually asked us if we could get breakfast here

We saw a sign that said “best cinnamon rolls” and decided to give them a try.
At 8 am the line was out the door… but moving along! We waited for about 30 minutes and finally made it to the front where we promptly ordered 4 of the King David cinnamon rolls.
The lady who took our order thanked us genuinely and said our Rolls would be out shortly. The chef was continually bringing out fresh rolls and hand basting them with paint brush full of yummy cream cheese icing.
The 4 rolls were giant and delivered to us in a large pizza box.
The rolls at Papi Ohana are of the best I’ve ever had. The website says Chef David was trained in French culinary, and it shows. He’s created a unique cinnamon roll that will have you wondering… Is this what a cinnamon roll should be?

On our first morning in Maui, I ventured out of our condo in the Papakea Resort for an early morning coffee and bite to eat. We found a coffee shop close by and then my hubby noticed people eating cinnamon buns next door. Papi’s Ohana is such an unassuming little business it’s so easy to miss. I entered this little place and was greeted warmly by the owners. I ordered two huge freshly baked cinnamon buns and was offered a cookie taster - an entire cookie. Of course I then purchased and entire box of one of the best cookies I’ve ever tasted. It has chocolate chips, macadamia nuts, and more. Will definitely go back for another box of cookies!

It was a little tricky to work the visit into our itineraries, since they are only open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. They open at 7 AM and I went about 6:50am on a Monday and there was already a line waiting. The minute I turned onto the main road from our resort I could smell cinnamon rolls wafting down the street…. They smelled divine! As you can see, they are huge! They are baking them continuously, so you will always get a warm fresh one. There is something unique about the dough… it has a bit of a crusty, crackly texture to the outside of it, which makes it really good. I also tried a pineapple coconut scone, which was equally as large and delicious. We did not intend to, but we were out and about the next morning, and could not resist stopping a second day in a row! This time it was about 9 AM and there was still a line, but it was not quite as long. They also sell boxes of cookies, which look delicious. The lady is very friendly. There are a few tables inside and maybe one outside, but most people seem to take these to go. Larger orders are boxed in a pizza box, and an order of one or two are put in a takeout container (stacked with parchment between).

My husband and I had the pleasure of eating pizza from Papi’s Ohana twice in January. We originally stumbled across it looking for restaurants near our hotel. Their website and cooking pedigree piqued our interest. When we arrived, the smell of dough and pizza convinced us this was going to be great. This was further confirmed by the fact that Papi’s needs you to book a slot for your pizza to keep demand under control! While that was an unexpected surprise, it hardly delayed our plans and it was well worth the wait! The Aloha Hi Fire pizza was incredible and my husband could barely resist the siren song of the cinnamon buns! We had to go back later in our trip because it was great food for great value. That the staff were all so friendly was the icing on the cinnamon bun. We will be thinking fondly about Papi’s until we get the chance to go back! Mahalo!

IMMACULATE! We smelled the scrumptious cinnamon rolls from blocks away near our hotel and we just followed our noses and were blessed to find Papi’s Ohana! The employees are down to earth, they play uplifting music and the food makes you so happy. This is a must visit restaurant while in Maui!

After hearing about Popis stateside, I knew I had to make a stop there. What makes this place even more special is that purchases contribute to the cause of supporting Lahaina strong. I couldn't resist indulging in two enormous and delicious cinnamon danishes top with a cream cheese glaze, as well as a delectable ham and cheese croissant. Every item was homemade and truly worth the visit.
When I arrived at around 8:15 a.m., I was met with a line that stretched from the door all the way to the end of the parking lot. However, the line moved fairly quickly. It's important to note that Popis opens at 7 a.m., but it's crucial to be aware of the specific days and times they operate. Once they run out of their delectable treats, that's it until the next time.
Make sure to plan your visit accordingly, as Popis is a popular spot that is definitely worth the wait.

Great cinnamon rolls and scones. They also have great ham and cheese croissants. Get there at about 06:30 or be prepared to stand in line. They open at 07:00 and both mornings we got there at 07:00 and had to wait in line for over an hour. The reason it is so slow is that workers from the area come in and buy 12 and 24 cinnamon rolls to take back to the job sight at $10 a roll. There is only one lady filling orders and she works very hard but she can only go so fast. So bring your patience, smile, and be courteous.

We’ve been here a few times so today I am writing a long overdue review. I waited, probably too long, for my review in case this business would also be a victim of the pandemic shutdown. I’m sure the owners had their times of doubt but they’ve prevailed! We’ve eaten and enjoyed most if not all of their offerings. Our favorites are the scones and cinnamon rolls! Freshly made daily, except the few days they close, they go perfect with a cup of coffee. Nothing I’ve had on the mainland is as well made and tasty as what Papi’s bakes. Most days the line to buy is long but well worth the wait. Don’t be dissuaded because it moves quickly. The owners are extremely nice and have always been helpful and we’ve never felt rushed. If you’re ever on Maui’s west side look them up. You won’t be disappointed.

Don’t let this unassuming building deter you from stopping in. Although, with the line stretched across the parking lot, your curiosity will probably be peaked.
King David Cinnamon Rolls to die for.
I was told to go early and be prepared to wait but it would be well worth it. I was not told a lie. The line was across the parking lot, I waited 45 minutes.
Purchased the cinnamon roll, 2 different filled breakfast croissants, a scone and these fabulous cookies with chocolate and white chips, macadamia nuts and pistachios.
Parking is tricky, do not park at the ABC store. I parked at the shopping center across the street, bought a coffee and walked over.
They are open until the sellout. Same with pizza. They start taking orders at noon, open at 4 until they sell out

Thank goodness I found this place 5 days into my trip or I would have looked like a cinnamon roll going home. These are better than my Grandma used to make. Sorry grandma 🙏 I hope you can't hear me wherever you are. These pastries have a slight crunch, and are so soft and gooey without being too sweet, the perfect combination. The owner are lovely people and the service was amazing. No computer screens to order from here, yay!

While visiting Ka’anapali, Maui for some rest and relaxation in April 2023, we decided to give Papi’s Ohana a try. We ordered two of the famous Cinnamon Rolls and they did not disappoint! We arrived at about 6:45 AM and there was already a line of approximately 10 people waiting for them to open at 7:00 AM.
It was about a 25 minute wait, but that’s ok. We brought them back to our condo and wow! They were every bit as good as the reviews say. We highly recommend giving them a try! You won’t regret.

We have enjoyed the most amazing, cinnamon rolls, quesants and today pizza from this small family owned bakery! The name says it all Ohana.. because that’s exactly how you feel when you go there, family!
They are the loveliest people, and their baked good are as good as it gets! The cinnamon rolls are huge, soft, the perfect balance of sugar, cinnamon and buttery. The pizza only made on Saturday’s was awesome! We had the Aloha Hawaiian Spice, Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapeño! Perfect balance of sweet & spice. The crust was thin, perfect balance of crunchy and chewy with a flavorful homemade sauce. Right down the street from where we are staying in Maui. This is our third time getting to enjoy their awesome artisan baking! We have a few more days and will be going back before we have to leave paradise. Do yourself a favor and go to Papi’s Ohana! Yummmm

I can't speak for the pizza, but the cinnamon rolls are off the chart good, as in great! Once we discovered this place, we went back every day during our Maui stay. We bought one for breakfast (they're really big) and one for a late-night snack. The late-night snack one, after 15 seconds in the microwave, was just as good as the one we ate fresh that morning. Wish I had the recipe!
