While shopping at the Outlets of Maui, we walked a block to Local Food to try their shaved ice. This was very refreshing on a warm, sunny afternoon. The shaved ice was delightful! There are a couple of picnic-style tables and benches to eat outside, or you can order for take-away. No frills, just good food. Check their business hours... More

We ordered chicken Panko and Thai chicken dish. Both are really good and price was reasonable. We felt like we ate like local here. It's a good quick stop while exploring Lahaina. We wanted to eat something within the price range yet not compromising the taste and this was the best option!

We stopped at local food for a quick lunch and we were happy with the choice. We ordered plate lunches one pork with cabbage and one chicken. Everything was tasty and we left fat and happy for $15. Great price for good food, will return.

This is a great local mom and pop place. Rather small hole in the wall type of place. It has a friendly lady helping and doing the cooking and serving (one woman army), good food, good portions, and good price! Keep in mind some of the menu items some people posted or listed might not always be available. So look... More

This little hole in the wall was recommended to us because we are always looking for a great out of the way place. I'm sorry, I cannot recommend it at all. Sitting on a dirty park bench and eating food I could taste for hours is not what you think of in Hawaii. Way better places to go to. The... More

Only heard good things about this place. It's a small place tucked away in a parking lot, away from all the action on Front Street. They have some interesting down-to-earth hawaiian dishes on the menu. I went for the Loco Moco. Came with a good load of rice, two eggs and three patties. Egss and rice were as expected, the... The wait was a little longer than was expected but I enjoyed my meal. I got the kalua pork and cabbage. It comes with macaroni salad and with your choice of fried or white rice. There's some tables available but it seems most people take their food to go. Simply put, it was good Hawaiian food.

The best part of taking an early flight from the mainland was getting to Maui in time for lunch. It was too early to check in to our hotel so we stopped here for a wonderful, authentic Hawaiian lunch. The counter staff was friendly and our order was ready in a reasonable amount of time. We had the Spam musubi... More

An affordable "joint" serving Hawaiian specialties (expertly prepared by a friendly Filipina lady). The spam musubi was very good as was the kalua pork/pig. Meals are served as $7 plates which includes rice, a mayonnaisey macaroni/pasta salad and the protein. As a single person operation, things can sometimes take time during the lunch rush but the food is worth the... More

I went to get Poke(Tuna Tar Tar) and Spam Sushi. I know Spam? Well if anyone knows how to prepare spam it is the Hawaiians. It was basically a slice of Spam on rice wrapped with seaweed. It was very good with soy sauce and wasbi. The also have hot plate lunches that would be similar to the blue plate... More
