I had read somewhere that this was a good local joint. It is on the first floor of what looked to be at some point someone's house, but it has been adapted for a restaurant. The young man at the counter (you can dine-in or take-out) immediately greeted us and gave us a table. The menu is quite long, and... More

We got the hamburger steak with orange chicken, and the loco moco. Large portions, good sticky rice and macaroni "mac" salad. The food was cooked to order and service was quick. Also got spam musubi, which is must try if you are unfamiliar.

Always difficult to determine how to rate a neighborhood, family run, working class restaurant in comparison to trendy resort area places. Really an apples and oranges deal. That said , we'll push on and give the Ono Kay Kay a four as it does a good job of being a neighborhood, lower priced place specializing in Chinese and local food.... More

Soo.. the dining area is not charming- it is warm, a little dingy and small. The food makes up for this. We picked up some food one night because it was walking distance from the condo and we didn't feel like going out or cooking our own. I cant vouch for every dish but the kalua pork, Lau lau and... Came here for dinner tonight. Was pleasantly surprised how clean the place was after reading reviews. Staff was very helpful/friendly. Ordered the Fried rice special, Kahula Pork/Ono plate and the General Taos Chicken/Short Rib plate... all was quite tasty, plenty of food for lunch tomorrow!

We stopped for dinner. Service was friendly. The menu is quite large. Though the portions are huge, the quality suffers. My wife's ono was over cooked and the shrimp on my chow mein was incompletely shelled.

Ever had mixed plate before. We kept driving by going to and from the beach and hotel. This ism toning fancy. In fact, it's well worn We were restaurant fatigued and wanted some good food. The place is small but the menu is huge. We ordered Kailua pig, general chicken and loco mono. Each one comes with rice and macaroni... More

We visited for dinner and had the Kalua pork, laulau, and loco moco. The portions were very generous and the food tasted great. I usually don't go much for Hawaiian macaroni salad because it's often a bit heavy on the mayo, but the macaroni salad at this place was alright! The staff was very friendly and the food was out...
