The Fish Market was a great find this trip. We ate there twice in a week! It's perfect for take out to the beach or back to your lodging. The poke is fantastic, the fish tacos excellent and the kalua pork plate is delicious! Food is reasonably priced and ready to eat in 10 minutes or less. They have fresh fish on the deli side too. If I lived in Lahaina I'd be on a first name basis with this place!

Ordered and paid online at 5:40PM on Sunday using a computer instead of a phone. I did not find the process confusing. The food was ready at 6:01PM as promised. We ordered chowder and it was not dished out until I arrived to make sure it was hot. Lots of people waiting around outside but my stuff was ready. Staff was wearing masks and the sign on the door limited the lobby to 3 people. The chowder was large and we agreed we should have ordered only 1 for two people. It was tasty, thick and creamy and had lots of fish in it but I felt the flavor was a bit flat. Not bad but I have had better in Seattle. At $8.95, the price was good. We had a nice house salad for $10.99 that was also enough for 2 and we split it. The calamari steak plate was a bargain at $11.99 with long strips of calamari (instead of rings) that were about the size of big pretzel sticks. The breading was dark brown, a bit overdone in my opinion but tender and flavorful. My wife had the fish Macnut special and it was very good. both main dishes came with a ball of macaroni salad and a ball of rice. Serving 2 major carbs like this together seems to be a curiously Hawaiian tradition so I do not fault the restaurant. I would have preferred a vegetable or coleslaw but that would have been an extra cost option.

Our visit to FMM in May 2019 was at 4pm so we scored a parking spot a little bit more easily. This visit we oped for 2 of their Baja Fish tacos and an order of Shrimp & Fries. This is their basic taco but it comes with plenty of goodies and is a good serving. A lot of people will compare it to the fish tacos of San Diego fame but there really is no comparison; it's apple vs oranges. The fried shrimp platter was very tummy-pleasing. FMM is very popular and for good reason. Is there any negative to FMM? The only one I can think of is they close at 7pm.

A tad pricy he fish is very fresh and if you are good at cooking fish, this is the place to buy it. Our favourites are the fresh Mahi Mahi or the Opaka paka when they have it. I tried their lobster bisque this time and give it a 2 our of 5 - a thick flour based bisque that failed the taste test.

Lucky us found this fresh fish market right across the street from our vacation condo. The attendant was extremely helpful in telling us about each of the available fresh fish and how best to prepare them. He also threw in some extra sauce and garish that were perfect. This meal turned out to be one of the best seafood dinners I have ever made. The cuts are not cheap, but you will not find anything better anywhere! The place also has an order counter for prepared meals which always has a line out the door.

THE BEST place for poke! The ahi tuna (only $19/lb) was firm and fresh! We ordered a side of the sweet Thai cilantro sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife liked her Baja taco. Their Mac salad was good. They have a line for hot food and a line for cold (however, you can get rice in the cold line). We plan a return trip before leaving Maui!

We have been coming to Maui for 20 years, we have our favorite place to go but with the pandemic, we are forced to extend our options.
We had gone by before, never stopped, but after reading the reviews decided to try it.
The place is located in a small shopping center, with the pandemic, parking was not an issue, the food is simple but the fish was so fresh and delicious, my husband had the Mahi with fries, the fries were hot, I had the coconut crusted Mahi Mahi, the fishes were so fresh, very good, the macaroni salad was super good. Before going back , we got some ahi poke, had to wait a bit because they were still Cutting the fish , that is how fresh it is, seasoning made to order , I choose mild , next time I will try medium. A gem, will go back again and again, the price are not cheap but this is Maui.

We found this place on our last visit to the island in 2018. It is in a small strip mall center a little north of all of the fancy resorts on Kaanapoli Beach. I think it is definitely worth making the trip over there....
We stopped by for lunch - you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The fish was fresh and cooked just right. There is something for everyone on the menu - fish tacos, shrimp, fresh fish plates, fish n chips, etc.
We also did dinner take out and enjoyed it on our balcony.
Either way, dine in or take out....the food was very good!
Looking forward to returning on our next visit to Maui!

Friends highly recommended this place so we walked here from our hotel (about 20 minutes). Good thing too, parking is tight because this place is incredibly popular! We had lunch here and enjoyed the fish of the day specials: coconut and macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, with tropical fruit salsa and rice. Best fish I had all week. And reasonable prices. We were lucky to score a seat but it's worth considering take out so that you don't have to worry about a place to sit. My husband also bought fresh poke which he said was delicious. All of the staff were super nice. We had hoped to get back for another meal during out stay but alas, it didn't work out. I highly highly recommend this place and we will definitely spend more time here when we are back on the island!!

Quick lunch at a reasonable price. Lots of variety on the menu from tacos, burritos, sandwiches. My husband got the shrimp taco platter that came with rice and macaroni salad. He said it was delicious. My mahi mahi fish taco was delish as well. A little too much sauce for my liking and the fish was battered and fried but still good. There is also a fish market if you want to cook at home.

An employee at our hotel recommended the Maui Fish Market for lunch and said they had the best, freshest fish tacos on the island. We went their on a tuesday and the place didn't live up to the recommendation for u. There were lots of people waiting in line to get food so I assume it was just an off day for them, or bad luck for us. Our fish tacos were tough and not the freshest.

We had all the ingredients for a great fish dinner, but no fish. We headed over to Fish Market Maui and found two fresh, nice sized (not too big) mahi-mahi fillets. We breaded them with crushed macadamia nuts and panko, and still, the delicious flavor and freshness of the film shone through. It was so tender. The next day we returned to find some Monchong, a fish I've never had before. Same results, delicious, fresh and tender. There is a difference between fresh and frozen fish; this is the place to get your fresh fish. Service was good and efficient. Prices seem average; compared to eating out at a restaurant, this was a great bargain, and fun in the process!

We found this place just driving around and it was phenomenal. My husband got the fresh Mahi with macadamia nut crust and I got the lobster salad sandwich. They were both absolutely delicious. I am really picky about my fish and I was very hopeful when we went in and I smelled nothing. We got our food to go with COVID and I was even more hopeful when I didn't smell that fishy smell while we were driving back to the hotel. Upon eating my hopes were completely rewarded. The fish was as fresh as I've ever had. No "fishy" smell or taste whatsoever. If I could have fish like this back in KY, I would eat fish every day. Even if you think you don't like fish, don't say that until you try the fish here. It is the best stuff you have ever put in your mouth. ABSOLUTELY DELISH!

Do not come here for the atmosphere, come here for the food. It is the best and freshest fish you can find. Either get them to cook it for you or you can get the fresh fish there and make it at home, either way the fish is ALWAYS fresh and amazing.
There will be a wait, so plan for it, but it is ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. I find if you order online or via the phone you can get your service faster by skipping the line of people waiting to order.
Go here, it does not matter what we have ever ordered from them it has always been amazing, we have never had a bad meal, ever.

We visited this place three times before we finally ordered something, because the first two times they ran out of poke. Given that we arrived later in the evening, our third attempt was an early lunch, but they were still out of poke. What kind of place keeps running out of their main item so often and so early in the day? We finally just decided to just order from their cooked food menu. This restaurant is set up confusingly and inefficiently, where there is a separate place to order poke and a separate place to order cooked menu items - a bit of an annoyance. We ordered two dishes for pickup, and ate at a nearby park.
The first dish was the Coconut Crusted Ono (fish of the day) with pineapple salsa. (4.5 out of 5). The fish was cooked well, and the fried batter was perfectly crispy. But the absolute star of the dish was the pineapple salsa that was on top. It really gave the flavor and tang that elevated this fried fish dish.
The second dish was kauai shrimp (2.5 out of 5). This dish was similar to a gumbo, and the extra large shrimp was served over rice with the gumbo-like sauce. The dish was a bit on the salty side, and while it was decently good, it seemed a bit generic and plain, such that I would prefer to order something different next time.
