First.. I have to say that having dinner with chickens walking arround is pretty hilariousl We were happy that his place was less than a five mute walk from the condo that we were staying at. We were there when some local musicians were performing...so we had to eat outside...not really a problem...the weather was nice and I don't recall it being real buggy. A tad on the unusual side for a place with price points the way they are...meaning when one has to pay such prices one doesn't think one would order at the cash register and have the meal brought to you ...not a terrible deal..just a head scratcher Food was decent and just like all things Maui...higher $$ than the main land...I figure 20%. I surely suggest a visit...did I say the chickens were a hoot?!More
A Maui local we ran into by chance recommended we try Nalu’s and we ended up eating here 4 times! We loved everything we tried! One day they had blueberry cookies that were beyond delicious! Great service. Fantastic Food. Excellent drinks. They also have 3...different kinds of “self serve fruit” added water that was amazing! Highly recommend the Pineapple Banana French Toast.More
We found this by accident and not only were the menu items innovative, most were super healthy too. You order at counter and your meal is brought out. They were using the correct guidelines for service. We had the Cubano sandwich (one of the best...I've ever had) lots of flavored water, great fries etc. All the food we saw looked terrificMore
We went in for a late lunch on a Saturday, it didn’t seem that busy however our food took over 30 minutes. Considering you order and pay at the counter upon walking in, there is not a factor of server busyness to consider. I also...don’t appreciate having to decide on a top amount upfront before experiencing the service.
Agree with previous reviewer - my crab cakes were soggy and lukewarm. I ordered them because it states “fresh crab” on the menu and I stay away from previously frozen seafood at restaurants.
Salad was wonderful however and others in my party enjoyed their sandwiches. Great fries too.
Malasadas for dessert were yummy.More
Sorry to say but this is worst meal we’ve had on our recent Maui trip. Don’t be fooled by the decor and space, the servers are inattentive to the point that our order was forgotten about for 40 minutes. We had to flag down two...people for them to find our order. As a result, we got dry as the desert fried chicken and soggy lukewarm crab cakes. Ugh.
If you have a choice, and in the mood for something local. I’d go with Cafe O’Lei over this.More
Nalu's is dedicated to the Hawaiian community. Creative foods and the friendliest people on the island. This small restaurant in Kihei in Azeka mall are is well worth the trip any time of day. From Cornflake crusted French toast to Loco Coco to the prize......the Saturday night dinner show with Eric GIlliom and Barry Flonigan of Hapa fame. Best show in town! Congratulations to owner Ron Panzo! Ron is clearly the heat and soul of the place.More
Noisy, but fast service. Chicken and waffles were yummy. Only place I’ve ever had a kimchee bloody mary served with chopsticks!! Music was great. Recommend getting there before 7pm as line gets long afterwards.

Ron, I'm afraid I do not have an answer for you. I just checked TripAdvisor and found Nalu's listed under restaurants when I checked under "Breakfast.." You are correct that Nalu's is now listed under "Quick bites" rather than Kihei restaurants.
I imagine the management of Nalu's will need to contact TripAdvisor if they wish this to be corrected.
