From the outside it doesn't look like much, but is actually much fancier than we'd thought it would be. We just arrived into town and were looking for a quick bite, and thought this was a lunch cafe type place. We ended up eating some of the best dinner we had on our whole vacation! Great cocktail selection, delicious fish,... More

Literally we wanted to lick our plates clean for every course. They have an oyster bar and a sushi bar your can order from or sit at. Call for reservations as it gets busy fast. We had the Mahi Mahi and the Macademia Nut Chicken. Had to coax both of us to share. Kala was our server and did an... More

Reservations for party of 8?! First time at the restaurant and received great service & everyone enjoyed the wonderful food. I enjoyed my order of the Asian style braised short ribs (very tender), my husband devoured his Honey Macadamia Nut Roast Pork, and whomever ordered the Baked Pacific Seafood Zarzuella enjoyed their dish as well. No room left for desserts... More

I started going here when I was a resident on Maui working in Kihei. This was a popular spot for our work lunches so I've grown to love this place. Since moving off island my husband and I will make it a point to go to Cafe O'Lei for their lunch specials (plate lunch special and fish special) every time... More

First night on the island we enjoyed our fish at this lovely location. Good wait staff. Good food. Good atmosphere. It's all good. I would go back. A bit pricey so you need to know that in advance. Worth it but there are less expensive and not as prestigious places to go. This is a place to go when you... More

For our last night on Maui on the way to the airport we decided to go to the Cafe O'Lei in Kihei . The food, service and prices were excellent. I had the Cajun jumbo shrimp pasta and it was the best I've ever had. My husband had their famous short ribs and they lived up their reputation. I highly... More

The single best dining experience I have ever had. The greeting, the ambience, the service, the timing, the food....everything was spectacular.

I was pleasantly surprised with the options we tried; both mahimahi fish (cooked differently, one grilled with fruits salsa and one special of the day). always happy with rice as side dish; salad had a bit too much dressing for my taste, but I noticed this is common to all the meals I ve had in Hawaii; overall great food,... We ate lunch at Cafe O'Lei after hearing several good comments from other guest staying at our condo. The food was really good. Very large portions. Service was very good. Views were really good. You had to pay extra if you wanted to split an entree and also I had to pay extra for soda when I asked for a... More

Visited based on a tip from our snorkel guide, Joe. It was very good. Got the special lunch plate specials. Very reasonable prices. You won't regret eating here. Good ambience and drink menu likely make this a good dinner spot as well. If we were staying longer we would definitely be back!
