It was the first and last time I eat there First you order at the register they sit you down and everything is on paper plates plastic forks. I’ve been to restaurants that still use real plates and forks. The kalua pork was tasteless like...it was watered down no poi and I had the Hawaiian plate the poke was too sweet and limi salmon so dry. I took friends from the mainland there and was so embarrassed it was terrible. So so so bad. Save your money. Once upon a time they were really goodbMore

A convenient place right near the airport to get a filling meal, and I loved being able to sample a variety of foods (including poi which I finally tried). But if I'm rating for the food alone, this place was mediocre at best. I think...this restaurant is a bit overrated. Overall, the dishes were very very salty. We got the Hawaiian plate, which had a bit of everything: Lomi salmon (2.5 out of 5): I wasn't a big fan. This is like pico de gallo (chopped tomatoes) with raw salmon, but it tasted a bit too fishy, like asian fish sauce. kalua pig (4 out of 5): Very juicy and tender kalua pig. I tend to love this dish at whichever restaurant I get it. A bit on the salty side here though. Pork lau lau (4 out of 5): Pork chunks wrapped in edible taro leaves. Very good, and having some of the greens was nice as well. Poi (1.5 out of 5): My first time trying poi, and I don't think it's for me. Poi is very bland, and perhaps I used it more for palette cleansing. And I actually ate quite a bit just to cut out all the salt from the other dishes. Chicken long rice soup (4 out of 5): Hawaiian version of chicken Noodle soup, with glass noodles, and a ginger taste. Ahi poke (3.5 out of 5): The poke was similar to other places I've had it. Nothing special, and I did not sense any mind-blowing freshness that I've tasted from others on the island. Macaroni salad: I didn't bother with this one. I just had to add that the server lady that brought out our food was so super nice. I usually never write about service, but she was so warm and friendly, and offered to explain each dish and get us anything we needed. She had true Hawaiian Aloha spirit.More

Moco loco was awesome. Recommend the Kauai Loco with the lighter gravy though if I had to pick between the two. Ahi poke was not good but it was just a side dish. Friendly staff. Fast service. Definitely clean.

We stopped there after arriving at the airport. COVID procedures were in effect so you had to wait outside until a table was available. A mask was required for entry as was the case in all restaurants we visited during this time. They were doing...to-go orders too. The service was great and it’s about $20 a plate with really big servings. I would recommend a single plate to share. The food was great and I recommend the place.More

This is such a great restaurant! Our server recommended the Hawaii Plate, and it was amazing! A nice sample of several Hawaiian dishes. Best value we had on our entire trip! Right near the airport, this makes a great first stop on your adventure!

With Da Kitchen closed, we had our pre flight dinner here and it did NOT disappoint. The saimen noodles were great, rich broth and pork belly was ono licious. Katsu and pulled pork satisfied the kids and they also said it was on par with...DK. This restaurant survived the shutdown of Covid and the staff were super friendly and nice! This is our new go to from now on.More

Take out Kaula pork tub was great. Tried eating in off the menu. Not recommend. Small portions paper plates n plastic. Noisy. Service was good but I had better Hawaiian style food via the food trucks across from Costco. .

A locally popular restaurant, with large, open, indoor seating with proper table staffing. Had the short rib platter, with rice and vegetables, not cheap. Great tasting. Nice atmosphere and service.

This is the place where all the locals go to have authentic Hawaiin food. You know it's good when there is a line outside and the business hasn't even opened. We had the loco moco and kalua pork moco. They were both fantastic. I recommend...buying the gummy candy they sell at the front. You can only pay cash for the gummies. We actually went back a couple days after just to buy more candy.More

If you want some really good Hawaiian style pork, this is the spot. We have done the traditional luau's with the smoked pork but this was a step above. We had the Hawaiian plate with pork wrapped in Tara leaves and the slow steamed pork...served with rice, Chicken long rice, poke and your choice of sides. I highly recommend the macaroni salad for one of the sides. It was enough to split between the two of us. We also ordered the Teriyaki chicken side just to sample. It was also very good.More

Fresh food, friendly servers. Hearty servings—the poke bowl could easily have fed 2, as well as the plate lunch.

Based on its pedigree I was expecting a lot better food experience. It has a convenient location when you're in Kahului and the restaurant interior is bright and contemporary. The service was fine. We had the Fried Chicken Plate, the Deep Fried Panko Mahi Plate,...the Pan Fried Mahi Plate and tacked on a lau lau. Unfortunately none of the dishes made anything memorable. For what you pay you won't get much and with so many places to choose from in Kahului you can certainly get a much better meal. I've wanted to try Poi by the Pound for a few years now but never had the opportunity; now I see no reason to return.More

Located across the street from Costco. Place with friendly servers. Food was pretty good. Poke was fresh tasting. Really enjoyed the mac salad. The fried chicken drumlettes was too dry for me. The bbq chicken was good. Fried mahi mahi is a good pick as...welll.More

My family and I had a great experience when going with our grand kids. We did not experienced any problems. What we did was to order the food for the kids at first right away before any adult in our group.
