The best thing about the Casanova is the brisk service and the local beer. My spinach and ricotta ravioli didn't really taste of anything. It consisted of just 5 raviolis in an oily pesto sauce ($16). For dessert I had to try the tiramisu which consisted of alternate layers of sponge and whipped cream topped with chocolate powder and a... More

Wanted to go someplace close to the hotel after a long work day and decided on Italian. I felt guilty at the end of an amazing meal as the prices were too cheap for the high quality food served. Great cocktails and a small but impressive wine list. Home made gluten free pasta with pesto and pine nuts was fantastic.... More

I have eaten at Bistro Casanova twice recently, once for lunch and once for dinner, and have been impressed with the food and the friendly service. For lunch I had the Quack Salad with duck confit, dried cranberries and goat cheese. Utterly delicious. For dinner I had the quinoa risotto with mushrooms, so good that I have continued to think... At first glance we were not sure if this restaurant was the right choice for us...a somewhat different dining room and a menu that did not offer the usual Italian fare. We were so wrong. This dinner ended up being one of the best meals we had on the island. All the dishes are made from scratch - including the... More

Came in for lunch. Service was a bit slow, but my mahi mahi was worth the wait. On the pricier side, like most things in Maui. Good spot.

Great server who knew the menu and could recommend items. I had the lamb burger for lunch which was great. My wife had a veggie dish and loved it. It was my wife's birthday and we got a delicious tiramisu for dessert. I would return.

Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Caesar salad was very good. I had penne carbonara flowed by tiramisu. Reccomend.

I guess it's understandable that the really good restaurants in Maui are in the resort areas ... Lahaina, Wailea, Kaanapali, Kapalua. Wailuku town and Kahului seemed to be left out. I think Casanova fills a void. It's not touristy or pretentious, but the food is really good. The dining room is large and has an outdoor lanai. There's a big... More

Management response:

Thank you for taking the time to share your appreciation for Bistro Casanova. You hit right on the spot. We opened Bistro Casanova, seven years ago, in order to fill a big void in Maui 'downtown'. We can proudly say 'mission accomplished'. Mahalo. More

Great quality food here includes salads, pastas, fish and even duck! The perfect place for a business get-together; not too loud, so great for getting your point across. Superb bar to meet at, if your lunch allows for that. And, a great place to wine and dine before the show at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, just minutes away.... More

Bistro Casanova is located at the ground floor of the Kahului office building, a four stories property across the street from Kahului beach, just one mile from Kahului airport. Your GPS device will probably lead you to the large parking space behind the building. You can gain entrance to the Restaurant both from Kaahumanu Avenue, where a large awning with the sign Bistro Casanova will guide you from the parking stalls to the front door, and from Lono Avenue, where a large sign shows the entrance from its main address: 33 Lono Avenue. In both cases, you'll have no problem in finding parking, day or night time. See you inside, where you'll be able to choose a table in the air conditioned dining rooms or "al fresco", in the lanai.
