Good but very expensive

My husband and I decided that during our stay at the St. Regis that we would have a really nice dinner at the Kauai Grill, one of Kauai's elite restaurants. Our meals were both very good. We ate late in the evening and thus there was no view to speak of, so if you are looking for an ocean view... read more

We ate here while staying in Princeville. Are expectations were high but the restaurant more than met them. By making a reservation, you can reserve a nice window table overlooking the water. The food was perfectly prepared and the waiter was attentive and helpful in making decisions. It was a very relaxing and perfect evening.

My wife and I decided to try the Kauai Grill while staying on the North Shore. Their advertisements are everywhere and the photos look great. I made a reservation for dinner, but the Grill was not very busy. Upon arriving the hostess asked if I was staying at the hotel.... From there it was downhill. We got a table near... More

The sunset view?... Gorgeous (be sure to reserve one). The device?... She was a sweetheart. The food? Eh... It was good. Simply put... For the $$ you pay here? (Example: my glass of Cabernet Sauvignon was $30)... It's not worth it. Fine dining should entail them laying a napkin in your lap (didn't happen)... A perfect meal (had to send... More

Reading a bunch of reviews on TripAdvisor. Restaurant is fabulous. Great food, Great service! Yes, it is a little loud but no kids in sight! And yes it's possible you may not get a window seat unless you arrive by 5pm. It's completely dark by 7pm so if you want a view, go upstairs and have drinks at The St... More

We are staying at St Regis and were going to have an easy dinner at the St Regis Bar. But after arrival at the bar we found it bit too busy for dinner so we spontaneously decided to try out the Kauai Grill few steps away from the Bar. We did not have a reservation but the manager offered us... More

My husband and I had dinner at the Kauai Grill. The food was decently good, however one steak was way undercooked (asked for medium, came raw, they redid it, and it came back better, still not medium-the steaks cost $59!) . The sides were all really good. The deal breaker for us is that there was a crying baby in... More

The view here is probably one of the world's finest, and the room from which you experience it is pretty incredible as well. The lighting is designed such that a remarkable optical illusion takes place at sunset. The reflection of the cleverly lit back wall combines, at just the right angle, with the spot where the spectacular mountain ridge hits... More
