Great time at luau buffett. Not many people so spacious seating with lots to eat and drink and great views of the stage and performance. Some interaction with the guests were fun.

The Luau was beautifully set up. The "extras" for paying the "preferred" price was NULL AND VOID for us. Truly, not worth the extra money AT ALL. We had other luau's to choose from, and we now realize we regrettably chose the wrong one. Truly...regret paying the extra. Food was great. Drinks were ok, but server blew the entire experience. Totally distracted us from the entire event. The food, the dance,/the show/ did not get 5 star because of the server. The extra money is NOT WORTH IT, even if the server would've been more appropriate. When the server comes and ONLY attends to half the table (only at a table) over and over and over, there is a GREAT PROBLEM. If i could get my money back I would greatly appreciate it. For a high rating resort, the server should be extra trained or get fired. Again, really disappointed and disgruntled patron. After paying preferred level for 4 adults, Very angry.More

We've been to several luaus & the location really made this one extra special! Our teenage daughter & her friend were able to learn a dance on stage. The food was good & I really enjoyed the Kona Brewing beers included with the meal because...mai tais are a bit too sweet for me. Lastly, be ready for the hefty price tag because the pictures they took were fabulous so we couldn't resist buying the downloads!More

This was my first Luau and it was so much fun! The weather didn’t cooperate, so we were indoors. While I would have preferred to be outside, indoors was great. We could see everything, hear the MC clearly, and felt very close to the performance....I don’t think it was diminished at all by being indoors. The cast was amazing - they looked like they truly enjoyed what they were doing and they are so talented! Great fun.More

I don't think anything was left off the menu at this Luau and all of the food including all the Hawaiian items were delicious. Entertainment started as people began arriving with live Hawaiian music, and proceeded to hula dancing when the food was served, and...ended with a fire knife dance that looked beautiful and dangerous. Some of the better drinks I had on this island visit were served at this luau. Our hostess and drink server Debbie was outstanding!More

This Luau is located only a sort walk from Poipu beach. The waitstaff kept the mai tais coming all evening. They had a wide variety of meat and vegetarian choices. The lines went quickly and the entertainment was historic and fun.

This was the fourth or fifth luau my wife and I have attended and we both agree it was the best. We really enjoyed it. The master of ceremonies was smooth and experienced with a good singing voice. The story was typical to a luau...and acted out nicely by all of the dancers. We enjoyed the keiki portion as a fun surprise. The food was excellent. It reminded me of a thanksgiving dinner. Quite tasty. Drinks were plentiful and the waitstaff was not shy about asking if you needed a refill. Overall we had a very good, memorable experience.More

We attended the very overpriced Luau at the Grand Hyatt Kauai on Dec. 24. The Luau was moved indoors, due to rain. Of course, this was not there fault, and they did a good job of setting up rows of tables in the ballroom. However,...the experience felt sterile and unpleasant. The dancers did a fine job on the small stage at the front of the room. The food was mediocre at best. The worst part was the waitress who physically shoved people aside to refill food platters. When someone said, "Merry Christmas," to cheer her up, she snapped back: "Yeah, some merry christmas! I'm 64 years old, and i have to work on Christmas Eve! Put that in the comments!!". So, in honor of her request, here it is! She went on to block our reentry into the dining area, shouting and pointing to a roast beef table, which we were not interested in. The value of the meal and entertainment were a fraction of what we paid. We've been to many Luaus around the Hawaiian Islands over the years, and even accounting for the weather, this was the absolute worst all around. I really think they should have offered a refund or raincheck, rather than trying to make this work indoors.More
