Honeymoon dinner. Service was amazing- we were a little chilly so they brought out fresh warm towels to put over our legs. Sat by the water, watched the fish. Get whatever special they have. It was amazing. Poke w rice appetizer also fabulous!!! Chocolate lava cake too.

Had a reservation for Valentine's day dinner but unfortunately the restaurant had a mishap that shut down the kitchen. The restaurant manager personally called us to apologize that they had to cancel our reservation. He made certain we could get in on another night. When we did visit, the food and service were outstanding! The opah fresh fish was the... More

My wife and I had spent two glorious weeks on Oahu, Hawaii (Big Island) and Kaua'i and experienced many, many wonderful people, activities and dining establishments in Jan/Feb 2017. Our last five days was at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort near Lihue. We ate at several other fine dining restaurants (e.g. Merriman's in Waimea, Hawaii) during our vacation. We are no... More

We stayed at the Hyatt, and found this to be an very nice place to eat on site. The service was good, but could of been a little more attentive. The atmosphere is nice, but not really a view of the beach or water from what I could tell. I had a filet and it was very nicely prepared. I... More

We really enjoyed our meal and experience at Tidepools. It wasn't the most kid friendly, but the staff was friendly and put up with our crazy toddler. The food was delicious and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We will go again our next visit.

This isn't really a review of Tidepools restaurant, more a review of their staff. We had booked dinner for 8pm on Valentine's Day and showed up at 7:55pm to find that the restaurant had experienced a fire at 6pm and had tried calling us to let us know about this at 7:45pm... the restaurant was no longer open, only cold... Tidepools is worth visiting just for the ambience and beauty of the place. On top of that, the food was perfectly wonderful. Make reservations ahead of time on go on a nice evening if you can. The doors are open and the restaurant feels like a tropical paradise.

Let me start by saying that when I booked the reservation for our anniversary I specifically asked if they had a view of the sunset. I was told the view was amazing and to see the sunset to arrive at 6. This was a complete lie. There is no sunset view from this restaurant at all. That being said, the... More
