One of the few places in Kauai that we returned to multiple times. Always busy with pretty outdoor seating, we always chose to sit at the sushi bar for omakase. Josh did a fantastic job and lived up to his promise to never repeat himself. The one nit is that the hostess staff had a difficult time being bothered to... More

My boyfriend and I stopped here based off the reviews here and some word of mouth but I wish we hadn't. The food was way too overpriced and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor (6 pieces of sushi was $16). I had two rolls; the spyder and the spicy tuna; and my boyfriend had a fish sandwich. The presentation... More

More on the pricier side but the food was delicious! I had salmon sashimi, Crab legs with prosciutto wrapped asparagus and a seafood chowder. Everything was amazing. The ambiance was really pretty too.

Beautiful location (it was both cozy and upscale on the porch/veranda) with decent ocean views. The Monchong was the best fish I've ever eaten and my husband said the sushi was very good. Service and wine were also very good. "Fair" prices for such a nice restaurant, considering where you are; if the prices were a bit better, I would've... More

Ahh, the Dolphin. Bland food. Overpriced bar and menu. Marginal view. And a waiter who somehow managed to work 'stoked' into every sentence. Twice. I'm not going quite as far as 'tourist trap,' (*cough* Eating House 1849 *cough*) but we are definitely well on our way, yes? Wish we had tried Merriman's Fish House instead.

Excellent food, excellent service. Our waiter Gilbert was amazing, especially having to deal with us 8 crazies for a 40th birthday! Nothing but good times at this restaurant. The fish is amazing!

Four of us went to celebrate our friends Birthday. Not impressed at all. The table was not set and the former visitors payment sat at our table for at least 10 minutes. My dinner was steak and a baked potato. I was never asked how I liked my steak cooked. It tasted fine but the very small potato looked liked... More

Came to Kauai for Vaca with my family and we heard about this place through friends; it did not disappoint. The food was excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was culturally intune but also a little jazzy. If I come back to Kauai this will be my first dinner choice. The sushi was so wonderful. You get... More

My husband and I have eaten dinner here twice during different visits to Kauai. This February, I had a cup of the seafood chowder - served in a mug - and my husband had the calamari. We were both delighted with our choices. I had a bit of my husband's calamari and agreed that it was very fresh!
