We last visited this restaurant in December 18, 2015 and I said the following: We finally were able to eat at Sea Salt (we stay at the north end, but the restaurant is at the south end of Kauai). The look of the restaurant is serene and beautiful. The lines are simple and very inviting. The food, on the other... More

Again, best sushi and mai tai on the island!! The restaurant is so cool looking and the service is outstanding. The chef really nailed the menu. It's a bit pricey, and there were some fruit fly problems, but I guess you can't help that. Would definitely recommend!

We ate dinner here on Christmas Eve, but went for the seafood entrees rather than the Christmas special. We split a beet salad for appetizer, and actually got the salad artfully split on two different plates rather than one to share. Didn't really make any difference taste-wise, but definitely looked nice. For main courses we got the mahi mahi and... More

My family and I were staying at the Sheraton. The breakfast service at the Sheraton was very poor so we found this spot just down the beach. It was about a ten min walk (and over a couple of boulders) but worth the walk. The service was great. Warm Chocolate muffins (complimentary!) were huge hits with the kids. Food was... More

A hidden gem. View of the water, great food, great service. We were staying at the Hyatt down the road, and the buffet there on Christmas had a long line and was $35/person. We drove 5 mins to Red Salt, got right in, loved it, and went back three more times. Get the pineapple pancakes.

We loved the sushi bar. Excellent quality. No reservations. Reasonable prices. Definitely good spot for a casual meal.

We stayed at Koa Kea and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and breakfasts at Red Salt. It was the best food we had on the island. Dinner started with delicious bread accompanied by red salt and butter, but got even better with fresh poke and macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi. At breakfast, they serve fresh muffins and the highlight is smoked... More

When I showed the manager that my fine white pants were attached to the bottom of the dining table by a long thick string of wadded red bubblegum, he said, "Well, take it off!" We were in the middle of our overpriced, but pleasant holiday meal with family, and I said I didn't want to touch it. It took him... More

We recently had dinner at Red Salt and thought that the food was good but for the price it should have been better. The service was friendly but not knowledgeable... Overall, I feel there are better options on the South Shore.

Don't go here if you're in a hurry. We do enjoy a nice sit-down breakfast and this was one great. The server was good, but covering too many tables - extremely slow. If you need something like a napkin or salt, just get it yourself.
