Don't go late or what you get is just terrible! Got a mixed plate today and all the meats were overcooked! Burnt teriyaki and chicken fired steak was way overdone! Save your $$ and go elsewhere!

Food was ok but not worth the price. Short lady that waited on us was the rudest cashier I’ve ever encountered. Our trip to Kauai has been amazing with all the beautiful people we’ve met so she was definitely an exception. Wouldn’t visit this place...againMore
Thank you for your feedback on your experience at Mark's Place. As a business owner, it was very disheartening to read your review, but we will be taking immediate steps to improve our customer service so that experiences such as yours won't occur again.
It was only take- out food but it was delicious tasting. They give a lot of food. Had the beef stew and katsu. One of the favorite places for local grinds.
Nice girl at the front, terrible tasting food. I don’t like to dislike a food business (because I love food lol) but the food was not at all what I’d recommend in Hawaii. There are several other places with much better tasting Hawaiian food. I...wouldn’t spend the money again.More
Thank you for visiting us here at Mark's Place. Mark's Place has been in business for over 20 years, serving basic local fare that is not exactly considered "Hawaiian" food, but menu items that we think of as local comfort food, along with updated daily...More
We enjoyed the tasty food at Mark's on our way to the airport for our flight home. Everything was delicious! We were there right at 11:00 a.m. when they opened. Since the Hawaii Safe Travels Program and mask mandate has ended as of March 25th...(especially for outdoor locations), we were not sure why this restaurant still does not allow for eating their yummy food on the nearby picnic tables. That would have been so nice for us. We ended up having to eat it in our car in the parking lot of a nearby golf course. It also may have been nice to have a larger scoop of mac salad and more dipping sauce for chicken dishes. Overall, a really good choice for casual, local food. I would go back for sure!More
Hi Angie, Thank you for visiting Mark's Place and enjoying your meal. Thank you also for your feedback on your meal, and we will take your suggestions about the food portions into consideration. Our company is very aware that the mask mandate and Safe Travels...More
Been going to Mark's Place for many years, always looking forward to my next meal there. Their regular menu has great island specialties (see their website) but for us, we always check out the daily specials. If you see something you like, make sure you...get your order in advance since many dishes will sell out (lots of locals eat here too). You can place your order on their website or call (but may be hard to call during busy times of day). It's pretty rare that they run out of the regular menu items but it does happen at times. Also, terrific baked goods (lots of Hawaiian/Asian choices). We are so pleased they are able to stay open during the pandemic. Much Mahalo for all of the hard work and the Ono (delicious) food !!! Also, side note about parking. Not many spaces so please do not eat in your car in their lot. Plenty of spaces to park at the nearby park. Turn left outside of the industrial park that you're in, go up towards the Shell station near the main highway, it's on your left. Mahalo (thank you)!More
I was excited to go to this food shack, as it is noted as a place to get good local foods, and not expensive. I called in advnace to ask about gluten-free options and was told that they had some. Upon arriving, I found out...that the only GF options are rice and a lettuce salad with no dressing. Super-disappointing. I did have some rice, and lettuce, and some roast pork with no dressing. The pork was prepared fairly well, but had little taste; it was not even salted. I would not go back to this place. But others will not doubt find it accepatable. Make sure you have someplace to go to eat your food. All the picnic tables are closd.More
Marks place is a fine place to taste some of the local fare. Takeout only - didn't have a wait to order (maybe a minute). They told me it would take 20 but only took about 7 minutes. We ordered a mini plate of the...loco moco and the beef stew. The beef stew was well made, the meat was tender and overall was flavorful. We would order again. Ironically this is not at all a Hawaiian dish but it is solid nonetheless. The loco moco was okay. The patty was a touch dry and the gravy could have more seasoning, I'd probably not order this again as I had better on the island (notably Kountry Kitchen). Would probably be in my rotation if I was a local but definitely more 4 than 5 based on what we had.More
Delish and something different! Tempura Ono was the daily special & delicious! We also had the katsu, very good with a tasty sauce (not too sweet). Green salad was a nice option but comes with a lot of dressing. Sadly they still use plastic containers...and cutlery, take your own fork! Outdoor seating still closed as of Jan 2022.More
Takeout only. Calling in orders cuts down on wait time. Had the chicken katsu (crunchy and well seasoned) and chicken teriyaki (tangy and juicy). Spam musubi was heavy on the rice and light on the spam. Large portions. Served over chow mein with a side...of rice and macaroni salad.More
An off the beaten track spot mainly for locals. We were almost sketched out by the location but I had heard this place was legit. Parking lot is very small here. They had a tent set up outside due to covid and you could not...go inside. They had a white board with the daily specials and a counter set up to pay. We got the sautéed ono fish special with rice, salad, and noodles. We didnt wait too long for the food to come out and we ate it in our car. The sauce used on the fish was delicious, ono nice and meaty and cooked nicely. Salad and rice were fresh.More
We stumbled across this little gem by accident and boy were we glad we did. This was definitely one of our favorites. Teriyaki, Korean friend chicken and the pork plates were our faves. Take the time to come here early in your trip so that...you can come back!More
Went here 3 times during our week long stay. One of the only places we found musubi. Large portions and good value. Everything was prepared upon order. Locally owned to boot . Couldn't recommend Mark's enough.
We were looking for some authentic Hawaiian food and happened across this place. I’ve learned that if it’s off the beaten path, it’s probably amazing, and it was! Portions are huge! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Stopped by for dinner. They take your order outside then you wait for your food. Picnic tables are closed so no place to sit and eat. Average food not my favorite.
